First dream where I didn't exhibit good control over a DC.

Usually I can control the reactions, and things that my DCs say. However, in this dream, I had a rebellious DC.

I was on a nice crescent somewhere, and there were houses on both sides of the street. There was this adult woman coming at me with a tiny knife (probably the half the length of your thumb), but it creeped me out. I told her to 'stop' and held out my hand, but she said, 'who cares' and started running at me. I summoned a bubble around myself to protect myself, but she went through it like it was air, and stabbed me right in the arm. I could see blood and I freaked. I woke up, but it turns out it was an FA. I caught it by doing the digital clock RC, and the time changed from 8:27 to 8:28 and back again. But I still remembered the dream. It bothered me.

Suggestions? Tricks on how to stop this?
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

I've had this sort of thing happen to me. I almost ALWAYS have some sort of feeling of foreboding, or get the sense something bad is going to happen. Usually I just leave the area, stabilize my lucidity, etc; and things are back to normal. If you have a rebellious DC chasing you, find a door and sprint through. If you're lucky, they won't follow you.

Hmm...well dreams are very interesting like this. Not every dream will be the same when it comes to dream control. There aren't any end-all answers to having control 100% of the time.

Whenever you have something like this happen, and you have a hard time controlling it, to me that really says something about the importance of that dream character. I would try asking her why she's trying to attack you. You might get an interesting answer.

Once I had a priest attack me in a dream. When I demanded that he tell me why, he said "so I can control you." To me this was really interesting because I feel that way about religion. I was able to outsmart him from this and he's never been back since.

I can summon DCs at will, but I can't currently exert any control over them. They just pop into the dream and start acting as if they were a natural part of it from the very beginning. Sometimes this involves brushing me off when I ask for help, or want to talk, etc. Depends entirely on the context of the dream.

Maybe he said he wanted to control you because you were in control of the dream. It could also be your sub conscious like you suggested.

      Oooh, that's a possibility too.

Honestly it sounds like a simple case. When you freaked out that she wasnt listening to you, you gave her complete power. Thus out of fear you created a bubble to protect yourself. The DC took advantage of this and of course when right through it. Honestly I would have turned her little blade into a bunny rabbit or something that would have made you laugh.

I guess it's just a matter of being brave, then? :C Darn. Gotta work on that.
      Thanks!
