      Running.... really fast.

I just wondered something. I can never run in my dreams, and I can barely walk in nightmares, so in a Lucid Dream is it easy to run at your real life speed? Is running really really fast a harder thing to do than fly well in a LD?

I find it really easy. Walking and running is something one have done ones whole life, contrary to flying wich for someone can be hard the first time. But walking/running i guess the most people can manage in theyr Lucid Dreams. Its just to walk as you do in waking life.

Not being able to run is a pretty common dream sign, I have dreams where I can't run too.

Even in nightmares, usually I wont have any trouble walking or running.

Has anyone ever tried walking/running REALLY fast, like at the speed of light or something? It would be interesting...

Occasionally I have those dreams where it feels as if my feet are made of rubber or something, and they become clumsy. But they're not common for me. Running super-fast in my dreams, at least for me, is indeed much harder than flying. I try it almost every time I get lucid or pre-lucid, but usually I can't go beyond a certain, not that impressive, speed, no matter how hard I try. Even though I ran across lakes (literally on the water's surface) in some of my dreams, the speed always seem to be too slow for me.

Wow so it's not uncommon to not to be able to run fast in dreams. For most of my life I've been trying to run fast in my dreams, but my legs just won't go faster than walking speed or they become stiff. Last year I actually accomplished running fast in dreams. It was a dream of everyone running around. I said to myself over and over "I know I can do this." or something like that and I ran fast. I was so happy. I was able to do that for a couple of more dreams, until I stopped having dreams where I was in a situation to run. I don't think I can do it anymore because I always forget to practice running fast in my dreams, thus forgetting the skill.

It is a lot easier for me to fly or float in my dreams than to walk or run. However, when it comes to running fast the last time I remember trying was the other day during a LD this crazy old lady kinda scared me and i walked into a room to get away from her (of course that just made her come after me) and she burst into the room I was in now all mad and even scarier, so I was like ENOUGH of HER!! And I ran as fast as I could straight at her top speed and she dissapeared and I woke up. It was wierd.

*GASP* "But existing is all I practically do!!!"
