My Dreams Contol Me.

Lol, it is true. But anyway, I digress. Most of my dreams involve a lot of graphic fighting, murder - people getting hurt, and me on the run from them and trying to protect people. A few times I've been shot, and I remember in my dream that I fell onto the ground, but in only the way that dreams can be, my thoughts echoed and I remembered telling myself that if I closed my eyes, I would die. So after being shot, I shoved myself up to my feet and forced myself to fight. Another time I got shot with a shotgun point-blank protecting my mother, and the guy who did it sneered at me and and stepped on my throat before he left. Although I ws bleeding out, I refused to die, and I stubbornly clung onto life. I kill people randomly in dreams, too. Most recently being me taking a trip to an island with my family, and seeing this haunted house. We strode by it easily, never giving it a second thought and checking into a hotel, but then I'm waking up inside of what looks like a burnt-out shell of a small surgical place, and I'm holding something in my hand - a weapon of sorts - and there's fresh blood everywhere. Blood that couldn't have been shed more than seconds ago. Gore's flecked everywhere, and I'm fairly certain that I killed the person, but I couldn't remember. . . Not all of my dreams are like this. There was one where it involved zombies and I knew I was going to be hurt, and I yanked myself out of that one - I believe I had become lucid in that dream. But is there any way that I can shape this landscape instead of just tagging along for the ride. I've read tutorials and whatnot, but. . . I dunno. None of them really seem to help.

Sorry, I get a kick out of those Russia jokes. In Russia, television watches you! But is there any way that I can shape this landscape instead of just tagging along for the ride. I've read tutorials and whatnot, but. . . I dunno. None of them really seem to help. Lucidity is really your only option. Not going along for the ride is what lucidity is. Although it is possible to exert control over your dreams without being fully lucid. So after being shot, I shoved myself up to my feet and forced myself to fight. The clue to solving you problem lies in that. Notice when you are focused on fighting you opponents, you don't feel your injuries, or you don't even have any injuries anymore. Everything requires your attention to exist. You can apply that to your dream enemies as well. Instead of fighting them, which makes them more real, you can ignore them into oblivion. Dreams are a direct reflection of what you have your attention focused on. You have 2 options for accomplishing this. The first is from within the dream while lucid. The second is from your waking life. The description of your dreams sounds a lot like mine, and for me, dreams like that are caused by either violent movies or shows, or being pissed off all the time in my waking life. Don't focus on the negative stuff so much, replace it with something better.

In soviet Russia, dreams dream you! I love Russia jokes. xD But yes, occasionally I can do a lucid dream, although they aren't often. But thank you. That does shed some light on what normally goes on inside of my head, although I hardly go to bed angry or annoyed. Most of the time I might be a little stressed, but I normally have great days. Lately, though, I've been trying to stress my control over what goes on when I sleep, and I've noticed that instead of being fully absorbed into my dreams, it kind of feels like I'm disconnected from them, almost. The most interesting experience I've ever had with lucidity is when I could feel myself moving through levels of black, and then I could feel myself laying in bed, with a horrible leg cramp currently occuring (this happens often when I go to sleep). Absently I was thinking, "boy, if I wake up, this is going to hurt." So I could feel myself sink back down into sleep. It was a very odd experience to say the least.

well looks like i'm not the only one who has frequent graphic dreams my guess is something(s) are bothering you in your real life. solution: try to think of pleasant thoughts before bed. listen to soothing music before sleeping too. however, if you find yourself in a violent dream, it seems like you try to defend. I suggest fighting back. everytime i've tried to simply defend in those kind of dreams i would get overtaken and usually killed. But when i decided to fight back things would always change, sometimes i'd gain complete control over the dream from then on, and even sometimes just command the dream to stop and i'd wake up. that's my advice. oh and one more thing, horror movies right before bed is a no-no. Every time i make that mistake i either don't get sleep or i have nightmares (usually involving my in dream death )
