      whats your longest lucid?

Hi Dreamteam, can anyone out there stay in a lucid dream for over an hour? I keep LDing but although during the dream it seems a long time I realise when waking that it probably only lasted less than a minute, which is frustrating, and when im dreaming theres always the thought that the dream wont last very long so try to do as much as possible as quick as possible.
Personally id like to be able to stay lucid for as long as i like...so whats the answer?

I'm fairly sure I have. It's tough to keep track of real time in LDs. It might be easier to have a longer LD if you have it in a nap. I'm not too sure because I've never had naps unless I'm exhausted. But anyways, yes, you can LD for that long. I've had one that seemed to be a month long, even if it most likely was just an illusion of the mind. Good luck.

I think my longest CONTINUOUS LD lasted around 20 minutes. However alot of times when I nap I've been in and out of the lucid state for about an hour and a half...anywhere beyond that and it's just EXTREMELY exhausting.

they say the ancient dreamers sometimes never woke up because they went through multilayered dream dimensions and decided to stay there in stead of coming back to this reality...
by the way i had a ld last night and i was wearing gloves made out of the curtains that were in my grandmas house when i was 6 years old. in fact the wallpaper and everything else was covered in the same material...needless to say it was a rather claustrophobic experience!

Relax dont feel rushed. I like to stop time , more often than not i'm able to maintain my lucidity for quite a while. I would suggest not feeling so rushed which is why your probably not able to maintain it for that long. To answer the original question in my dream about 4 days, in real life it was about 1.5 hours....

regular good LDs of mine last between 1-2 hours. However the longest ones i've had, are due to some sort of "time comprssion" that happens in LDs. I've had dreams go on for what seemed like weeks, (one time even a month).

Though, those are rare, and I've not had one since i stopped being a natural LDer.

I think the tops I've had was an hour, and it was controlled. Very awesome experience and I can't wait to go back (though I'm in a dry-spell right now.)

The longest LDing experience I've ever had included about 4 false awakenings and lasted about an hour and a half! It was very vivid and I was able to remember most everything! Sadly LDs this long don't happen often.

well, your lucid dream may not last about 2 hour. Instead, probaly 15 minutes and later it was just pitch dark? Hmm..my longest lucid dream when i was young was about 1 hour i think, im not sure though.

I've been able to stay lucid or conscious for nearly 2 hours of real time and this included 5 astral projections from sleep paralysis. Read my post titled "technique for stringing together lucid dreams" in the dream control section for more details. I can do this after 6-8 hours of sleep when the dream cycles are the longest or after a night of drinking becasue a phenomanon happens in which for the first few hours of sleep you don't dream at all and then you'll have a 2 hour or longer dream cycle. I pretty much always lucid dream after a night of drinking even if it's only a couple of beers. Like Lucidstunna said the important thing is to not feel rushed which I beleive is the problem I used to have. I would become lucid and feel like I needed to hurry to do stuff I wanted before the LD ended but now I know that as long as I stay relaxed and just know I have all the time I need I can remain lucid for a very long time.

My longest lucid dream ever was one hundred and fifty THOUSAND YEARS long. Nah I'm playin.

But my longest LD was probably no more than a few minutes in reality, but the timespan of the events in the dream were like 3 or 4 hours it seemed. It even started early in the day when it was drizzling (in the dream) and ended in the late afternoon and was no longer raining. Kinda cool.

I have no idea at all how long my dreams last IRL. The longest LD I've had felt like about 15 minutes. But Im just a beginner...lets hope they get longer.

I think it would be a really really cool experience to have an LD that felt like a month or even just a day, but I would wake up and wish I could have it like that IRL.

you said a month was your longest right? (to the 2 who said it) what exactly do you mean. like you went through the month of say November in your dream or you actually 'lived' through every minute of every day for a month in your dream (but in reality was only 1 hour of sleep) ?

well it was about 6 hours of sleep.. by my estimates I went lucid about 3 hours in and yes, every minute of every day for a full month. It was so realistic also, I could not wake from it easilly either, I thought I died, seriously because I could not believe the lucidness.

Its been a long time since i've had ones that long.... it feels like a part of me has died recently and I'm just numb. Not one friggin dream have i recalled the past two weeks, however daydreaming is becomming more vivid as I seek for a bit of escapism.

My longest was maybe 5 minutes. I've mastered having lucid dreams, so I get them whenever I sleep. But, the only thing I can't master, is keeping myself from waking, which can be very annoying, and sometimes quite relieving, as I can't control the content yet either.

My lucid dreams are few and far in between, so they've averaged....six seconds.

My non-lucid dreams, on the other hand, average a hell of alot better. I've had entire movies play out in my head (epics, more or less). So, they range from 5mins - several days. Averaging about 1hr each.

      What do you mean?

You mean an hour in the dream right? Because a dream that seems to last for hours may only last for say 5min in the real world. The mind dosn't need to be bound by the limitations of time. It creates it's own "Dream Time". I suppose thats what you mean but their really is no way of knowing yet exactly for how long you were dreaming.

Well, it wasn't a lucid dream but my longest dream lasted for what felt like 2 hours (when in reality it was about 12 minutes).
