Thread: Odd Pregnancy Dream

Yesterday I dreamt during a nap that my fiance and I were dogs, leaders of a wild pack. It felt so great to be free! Then... things happened. *coughs*

Last night, I had a dream where I started out as a dog, but not quite the same dog. And I was watching a human me spaz about the house. Then I was the human me and there was no dog. The dog had died about two years before my great grandma, and for some reason my entire family was at my great grandma's as it was after her death once it was empty. Everyone was just standing around except me. I told my mom I was late, and she handed me three pregnancy tests. I kept worrying that I was pregnant. So I peed on the first stick. Negative. Showed it to mom, and she told everyone in the room the result of "Test 1". Everyone being my dad, two sisters, and mom's mom and dad. It was -embarrassing-. Then she told me to go back and pee on the second stick. Again, negative, and she told the room. Then I had to pee on the third stick. Having already peed twice, it was actually a bit of effort. But it came out positive, that I was pregnant. For some reason, I tore the cotton part out of the test and ripped it up before went back out to my family and told mom I was pregnant. I was crying, but everyone said it was okay with that disappointed sound in their voices. Mom whispered into my ear, "It's okay, I won't make you get an abortion," before saying for everyone, "Time to go to the car wash!" So we went to this weird car wash with a really long line - but nobody was in a car. The cops were guarding the place and I was pretty nervous and very confused. We got to the part where you normally put in your money and I freaked out 'cause nobody had two ones. I ran. Mom followed, but everyone else held our place in line. She got me to come back and I saw that the $2 had been crossed out and FREE written in above it. So we walk through the car wash, which was so very weird. Halfway through is this Hispanic doctor who somehow confirms that I'm pregnant without doing anything. No pee, no blood. Then I woke up. I tried to get back to sleep to see if I could finish the dream, but no such luck.

Some background - I'm on birth control and not trying to get pregnant. But I missed a couple days last week. It's been chaotic - Mom just had a partial hysterectomy to remove a benign ovarian tumor and I keep getting distracted. My great-grandma died almost four years ago and I haven't been there in at least three years. And my fiance and I have a serious fear that my family will try to force me into an abortion since my grandma tried to do that with my mom about me.

Life is so odd sometimes, and I'd just like to hear any opinions about the dream that might be out there.
