I have a lot of dreams that don't make sense to me, and I actually got referred here for telling about this particular dream. I'll start a Dream Journal to keep track of all these things later, but I wanted to make this first.
I was running up stairs, in a big hurry. The stairs were long and twisted, and many of the steps gave way when I stepped on them. Beneath me water was rising, filling up the building. I climbed faster and faster, until finally I made it out to the rooftop and stopped to catch my breath because I was already exhausted. The sky was a deep orange, so it was either dawn or dusk, and the stars were out early. I looked out around me and saw that the entire city had been nearly submerged, and was still sinking, except for an exceptionally tall tower in the distance. I began running toward the tower for safety, leaping from rooftop to rooftop as the buildings sank into the sea. As I started to get closer, black birds began to dive at me. Whenever they struck me, they left a large black splotch, like an ink stain. The stains didn't hurt, and I didn't pay them much attention because I was too busy trying to make it towards the large tower. The wind picked up, and lightning began to strike around me at random, which made it harder for me to jump correctly and startled me at weird moments.
As I cleared the final jump to the tower, the tower began to sink as well, so I began to furiously scale the wall, while still being harassed by the wind and lightning. Many times I fell, only to catch myself on a ledge below. It really hurt my fingers to do that. When it seemed I may finally reach the roof of the building, the bricks I was holding on to gave way, and I began to fall. Suddenly, a hand darted out and caught me, and began to pull me over the edge.
I looked up and saw a woman with long black hair in an elegant, red and white ballgown. Her thin arms didn't look like they could support me, but she was dragging me up all the same. Behind her, was my best friend, a girl who I met when I was only ten and who has been living with me for about a year now. She just stood there staring at us, looking as upset at the whole world and everything in it as she usually is. After a moment, she gave a small grimace, like she was disgusted with just looking at me, and I was able to see that she had elongated fangs like a vampire. I was confused as to why she was there, but I didn't question it for very long.
I began to pull myself up, but I passed my eyes over the woman's face. The color of her eyes was a burning red. I suddenly panicked. I didn't want to be anywhere near her, and I struggled until I was able to break free of her grip. After I managed to shake her off, I naturally fell into the water and sank until I couldn't see any light anymore.
Then I woke up.
So, what is your take?
