Seeing strange guy in my dreams

Hi. I am new to this forum, and would like to share a particular recurring dream that I have been having lately.

I am married to the love of my life for 4 months now, after 3 years of dating. He and I are soulmates, and we share intense love and a very deep bond. I am very happy that after crossing many obstacles, we finally married (we had to elope!). He's the prince of my heart!

Now for the strange part. Since the past couple of weeks, I have been dreaming of encountering this total stranger who would appear and repeatedly ask me why I left him and married the man whom I married. This guy in my dream is in no way familiar, nor does he bare even the slightest resemblance to anyone I have ever known personally. I have no idea who he is. He's quite handsome though, and has a very warm disposition. At first, I had this dream 2 nights in a row, the moment my head would hit the pillow! And then there was a gap of a few days. And then the dream started recurring again, during regular intervals. Same thing each time. The same guy pleading with me for an answer as to why I have broken all my promises and ditched him, and how I could marry someone else etc.? In a few of those dreams he even had tears in his eyes and seemed really heartbroken. He desperately keeps saying "He's not your soulmate, I am. Don't you remember the deep and loving bond we once shared? How could you forget me like this?" Even I'd be driven to tears, and feel a deep sense of guilt (within the dream).

I am really puzzled because of these dreams!! Who is this guy? Why does he keep appearing in my dreams?? I had a couple of exes before marriage, but in each of those relationships I was the used and abused and "unwanted" partner who got ditched each time, before I met this wonderful man who is my husband. Each of my exes have moved on way before me. This guy in my dreams cannot be anyone I have known or been acquainted with. He has a personality and attitude that is unlike anyone I have known or seen before.

Anyone have any clue as to what these dreams mean???

This is just a theory, some thoughts that came to mind reading your post. You would know better than anyone here.

Perhaps the stranger represents the opposite of happiness, the inate fear buried inside you after several poor relationships that tells you this guy is too good to be true.

Often people who are used to negative outcomes will have at least some internal doubts about a relationship that works out well, even when there is nothing wrong.

      These thoughts can become self-fulfilling.

I would suggest relaxing, and allowing yourself to not worry. The dream will likely fade as you come to terms with the fact that your life is going well.

As you are looking for meaning I'm going to move this to Dream Interpretation.

      Anima/Animus

Basically this: You have somehow become involved in a conflict with your animus. This isn't how you relate to men but how you relate to the masculine qualities within yourself. Something has happened which has changed the way you view your self.
This is really the only conclusion I can make from this dream.
This can be a good thing. This can be a bad thing.
The animus/anima is typically represented by an image that we would desire. Ironically, it can be very unhealthy for one to indulge this image. You must know where they are coming from and where you are going.
Take some time...watch your dreams..listen, and ask him questions if you can.

Thanks for sharing this video, Chimpertainment!! It's a very interesting concept, though I'd have to try and get my head around it.. lol. Carl Jung was a genius, that's for sure.

yeah, they are pretty big ideas, its true...That is why our mind neatly packages them in imagery. Every element of a dream means something, that is a very important thing to remember.
When it comes to finding an answer, it always concludes with whatever feels right. Dreams will help you identify feelings and then interact with them via dream imagery. And if that wasnt enough, we can even enter dreams consciously and interact lucidly with our subconscious world. cool stuff indeed...
