From my dream journal entry:

I remember my father playing with a lot of electronics at a gas station and someone commenting that it was cool that he was watching TV among other things at the same time. I was in the passenger seat a car while my father drove. We were traveling along what appeared to be a rocky and mountainous area. We passed by a 20-something biker that was doing tricks over the road we were traveling. This was being witnessed by a full bearded fellow who looked a little older. My father decided to turn around in order to tell him to stop. We passed by the bearded fellow but didn't find the biker. The sun must've been setting, because it was dark while my father inched down the deserted road a little at a time. I was very uneasy during this and felt like it was a waste of time. And then something strange happened that forced us to get out of the car. At first I thought that one of the wheels ended up off the road, but after looking at what happened, it looked like my hub cap broke. Somehow, my sister was there suddenly, or she was in the backseat quietly. My father asked me what I wanted to do, because he didn't want me to worry about having a form of transportation. And this is where I realize that this was my car that he was driving. He told me that the repair would be thousands of dollars and I decided it'd probably be best to trade it in. (Dream logic XD)

It feels like this dream is concerned with dependance. Even though it was my car, my father was still driving it. What DC!Dad said about not wanting me to worry about transportation is exactly what RL!Dad would've said. Also, my sister who has been independent for a while with her husband has nagged me about being dependent on my dad despite being a 22-year-old college student. (She had a child the summer after graduating high school and dropped out during her first semester at community college, deciding to marry her baby's daddy and live with him.) I decided to take advantage of my father's promise to take care of me throughout my educational life, and I'll be graduating with my BA in English next May.
