What does this signify

This is my dream: my current boyfriend and I were talking outside a ring store about picking out a wedding band. I told the clerk I wanted a plain gold band. At first he showed me a gold ring with a huge dark green stone. I said no. The. He shows me a gold band but it had a band of jade in the middle so it was sandwiched, gold on top and bottom jade in the middle. I love it!! But as I just put the ring on my phone starts going nuts with text messages from my ex husband. Telling me that our three young children were attempting to burn the house down. I of course was very scared!! But that's where I woke up in a cold sweat and my heart racing like crazy. I will say this I was not in the same state as my kids, I was in MA and it was a beautiful summer day.

One possible interpretation (and I may of course be wrong) is that while part of you wants to marry your current boyfriend, another part of you is scared that something will go wrong?

I just wasn't sure if the jade ring had further meaning

Perhaps your mind is telling you to keep an open mind on the ring front because you may be surprised by what kind of ring you might actually like? Or if it is less literal, how about it being a suggestion that you keep an open mind about aspects of this relationship - that you may surprise yourself by what you will actually want from it or like about it? Anyway I would think it is significant that at the end you like something different than what you initially expected. Does that make sense?
