Dog barking at me while I'm in the shower

I had a dream wherein I'm in the bathroom having a shower and when I open the shower curtain there is a big dog in the bathroom with me. The dog is black and brown, and I'm 80% certain it is a rottweiler. When I first see the dog, it was not being mean but I was immediately scared because of the appearance of the dog. I am a dog lover myself and own four small dogs, but I've always had a fear of big and ferocious dog (like rottweilers). So a face-to-face encounter with such immediately elicits fear in me. When I first open the shower curtain the dog is just there sitting looking at me. It was not being mean but not necessarily being friendly either. But when I tried to move (I think I was trying to reach for a towel) that's when the dog starts barking and snarling at me. So I'm just there paralyzed with fear and unable to move. What can that mean?

It just means that you are afraid of big dogs.

Fun fact: Any dream that has some really deep meaning to it, you will know.

Fun fact: 90% of your dreams don't have any deep meanings to them.

A dog blocking your way could mean fear of progress and change or the ability to surmount tough obstacles in your life. Getting past the dog or obstacle implies risk and even potential danger.

Since the dog never became a real threat until you approached it could represent something you're afraid to try or put action towards, and even the idea or concept in concerning to you.

Of course, this is just an idea. What's important is what the dream means to you!

Dogs represent our friendships and loyalities ...other people in our life. The dream setting is a bathroom. A bathroom represents a need to cleanse , refresh or release.and here you are trying to wash off bad emotions and achieve a better state of being, especially in the emotional life. Bathrooms usually suggest a time in one's life when they are ready to "get over it " and start over. Seeing a dog, especially a black brown rottweiler could say that there is someone whose been in your life that was not good for you...the colors black and brown suggest the person had a real dark side and was very materialistic (brown) or rather not spiritually minded. The snarling and barking at you "when you try to move" could say that you might have some trouble getting away from the person, the person will be difficult and threaten you and need to realize you CANNOT LET this person paralyze or keep you from moving on.

I'm not exactly sure what the deeper meaning of the big scary dog thing is, but I think that the fact that in your dream you are in the shower means that you feel vulnerable in a specific situation. I think that what melanieb said about fear of approaching a situation sounds very likely. If I had to take a stab at it, I would say there is some sort of conflict going on in your life, that makes you feel very vulnerable, and you are afraid to try to do anything because of this vulnerability and because you feel uncertain on whether your outcome will be good or bad.
hope that makes some sort of sense!
