      Future

      Hi
I'm just joined because I just was curious about if others have had dreams with relevance to the future or information that you could not possibly know but turned out to be true.
To think back to the first time I had a fecked up dream like this it was probably in primary school when I learned off a paragraph I never learned for homework that night in a dream. I remember thinking it was weird but always disregarded it. As I have gotten older I have gained a further interest in dreams. One in relation to future that weirded me out was in 2008. It was made up of approximately 3 parts with one anchor. 2 parts have happened since and I am hoping for last part to occur yet. In 2009 had another dream that scared the shit outta me about the past going back to chieftain times and folklore in Ireland. Following day I wikipedia -ed it and lets just say the folklore checked out even though I couldn't have possibly ever learned about that particular story anywhere...

Anyways that last one was so weird that since I rarely sleep more than 8 hours a night as I find if I do I tend to remember dreams but lately no matter how much I try I have been having certain dreams that could be slashed as irrelevant but always seemed weird. Here are one or two examples:
dreamt about a poem I did in school > Following day the poet dies
dreamt of someone I know with a fake limb with the fake limb off > following day i see a fake limb at the side of a swimming pool (same limb)
dreamt of a movie > movie was on tv following night (only 8 channels)

There are countless others and it has gotten to the point I hate dreaming because I haven't had a pointless dream in a good while. Are there anyone with any insights or have there been any research or documentation done into the relationship between dreaming and the future?

That sounds like a disturbing gift you have there. What you are discribing is called precognitive dreaming, and if you look in the subsection of DV called Beyond Dreaming (Beyond Dreaming) you will find others who have experienced this phenomenon at least to some extent. I have had two dreams that I consider precognitive myself, as you say, dreams where there was no way of knowing in advance and yet they happen later, and it's too weird to be just coincidences. Science does not acknowledge that precognitive dreaming is real, and I do not know how it is possible, but once it has happened to one, it's harder to deny.

      Welcome to DV, Scab!
You may say I'm a dreamer.
