Almost dying due to alcohol and medication overdose

This dream wasn't exactly recent, but I thought it pointed either to some dangerous issue I've had in my life either with being pressured or uncareful or something that I still need drilling into my head, maybe you guys can find another connection I didn't? I dreamed that my mom's boyfriend's daughter (in real life she's a nice girl and would never pressure me to do anything stupid; I just think her relationship to me symbolized something in the dream) pressured me to drink like 10 martinis in a row after a party was over from my fridge, and like 5 bottles of medication, and I actually didn't die, I just went to the hospital and had brain surgery and got my stomach pumped and was fine. She didn't even need to go to the hospital...or did she? I sort of remember her being smug and happy that she survived all of that without needing medical intervention. (Does that mean I think other people are invincible and I'm not?) In the dream I wasn't scared of dying; I just didn't want to disappoint her by not doing what she said.

By the way in real life I would NEVER engage in a suicidal act just because someone told me to...I've smoked and considered suicide out of pressure and people's words, but I don't think I'd actually do something that I knew would make me drop dead.

I don't think I'd have this dream now, though, because I'm much more cautious than I used to be, and I don't give into random pressure as easily.

I think I shared this dream because it still makes me nervous to think about and I wanted any further analysis of what advice my subconscious was giving me in that dream.

Excuse me. I do not understand "Martinis". Is it a drink?

Yeah it's an alcoholic party drink actually. You've never heard of a martini? I was younger at the time, but now I think it's weird to purposely overdose on something so random. (Even though they're yummy lol...I've drank the virgin version; I'm underage)

I think the message of the dream is not to be pressured by outside influences unless I want to put myself in danger, but it still makes me nervous to think about, so I was wondering if there any other messages in the dream?

Maybe the fact that I love the taste of martinis shows that I am afraid to enjoy myself because I think it may hurt me?

      No need to get nervous.

Here are two interpretations (you have to decide which one is relevant):

      First:
People usually have such dreams when their body is in need for water (thirst). By the same token, if you are not on a good nutritious diet, you will dream of eating tons of food yet not feeling full.

As for the rest of the dream, they are just incidents made necessary to give you a story in the dream. They are totally meaningless.

      Second:
There is a possibility that it has to do with spiritual thirst. Your soul might be in need for spiritual activities to nourish it. The hospital is the place where a body goes to heal and in a dream it might represent the need for spirit to be healed as well. I think in Christianity, wine symbolises a spiritual thing related to Jesus Christ and Christian ideology (please correct me if I am wrong). If this is correct, the meaning here is that your spirit is feeling pain of worldly sins and is looking for repentance (the hospital symbol).
My interpretation of dreams is based on hypotheses, some socio-psychological facts and most importantly context.

I actually like your interpretation of the spirit needing to be nourished by worldly activities, and needing to be healed from worldly sins. I do feel those ways, and I never thought of it that way!

What do you think of this dream (I don't want to post too many new threads):

I start walking up the stairs to my room and then the bottom parts of my arms and legs fall off. I yell at my mom that I knew she shouldn't have put me on medication because you never know what the side effects will be (being on medication has made me really nervous). Then I walk on my knees stubs to my bed and fall asleep. Then I wake up and call a guy who was my boyfriend at the time to tell him about the "weird dream I had". And then I wake up for real.

I interpreted that to mean I wasn't fully in touch with my emotions (the fact that I woke up in the dream to get to reality), and I needed to break away from the past to become more stable and independent and to care for myself and others. The fact that I called the dude to tell him about the "dream" means I spend more time complaining about my insecurities and obstacles than working to fix them. The medication part just shows I blamed an outside force for my troubles. Oh and the part that I was trying to get into my room shows that when I try to use my heart to help myself or others I sometimes feel like I become crippled in the process. Would you add anything to that?
