Thread: Keep seeing same man in my dreams, but never see his face...

I keep seeing the same man in my dreams. I've never seen his face, but I often am traveling or spending time with / talking to him. It isn't that he doesn't have a face, it's that he's always in my periphery or something's in front of him or something like that. He's taller than I am and has dark hair, pale skin and though occasionally we bicker, he and I get along. I can't recall what his voice sounds like, but I've recognized him and always feel comfortable around him in my dreams. If you've read my other posts, he's the same guy who was in two of my giant snake dreams, the one where I was in the warehouse and the one where we're camping at the lake and he disappears.

What does it mean to have the same person who I don't know, but always recognize, in my dreams? Especially if I never see him face-on. He's always next to me or in the passenger seat while I'm driving, or I'm looking out the window while he's driving and we're talking. At first he was kind of blurry, but over time he's gotten more and more... solid? I guess would be a decent term for it? I don't know how I know he's the same man, I just know I recognize him, but have no idea from where. He doesn't even share many qualities with anyone I know or can ever recall meeting.

I am not too much into dream interpretation but maybe you would like to have or miss a similar relationship IWL?

Lucidity in my dreams is very low. I tend to have very vivid, real-feeling and memorable dreams, but very little control over them.

Usually, when he shows up, it'll almost feel like we're continuing a conversation or that he just left and came back and I feel like I know him in my dreams, though his role does change sometimes. He's been a friend I've been watching a film with, a boyfriend, a husband, the father of my kid (at this point in time I have no children), as well as someone I was just casually hanging out with, or in one case, someone I'd just met and ended up having to pair up with (even though he annoyed me) in order to survive, but it's always the same person. I guess you could say his "energy" is the same, if that makes any sense. It'd be strange to turn to your husband and go "who are you?" He'd look at you like you'd gone insane.

I know this feeling quite well and I have my own recurring dream character who does the exact same as you. However, I've set it so that his presence alone brings lucidity where I usually have none, and can converse with him not as role X and role Y, but dreamer and dream. Between him and I, he adopts multiple "roles" to fit in a dream, but as soon as the two of us can be a bit alone we can drop the roles for a few moments to talk about each other and what it means to be awake and asleep.

So, I guess I could suggest to remind yourself that tonight (or some other night) you'll want to ask him questions, not as a role but as who you both really are (dreamer and dream), or that you really want to see him and talk to him. It might translate to something good... I can only suggest based on my experiences with a similar DC though... I wish you best of luck.

Maybe he could be your Dream Guide. If u can't get Lucid in your dreams, try telling yourself you will RC whenever you see this man, then you can ask him who he is.
