Now that I tihnk about all of the dreams Ive had it seems like I've had alot about tornadoes and/or very strong wind. Anyone know what these things possibly mean?

      yes!!!

YEEES!!!! I get those ALL the time too... Tornadoes are actually a dream sign for me. As to what they mean, I think dream interpretation should be more personal than a "dream dictionary" type view of dream signs... For me, personally, i think there are two reasons i get these dreams about tornadoes:

      1. I was terrified of them when I was little, like before the age of 5. I have a theory of dreams. It is along the lines of Freudian Psychology which says your entire personality is based on what happens in your first five years of life (not that i completely agree with that). My theory is that events or places from those formative years tend to show in our dreams throughout the rest of our lives. SO. Since I was terrified of tornadoes and came close to being in several of them before the age of five, I think they tend to creep up in my dreams.

      2. Now, as for the actual interpretation of the presence of the tornado. For me personally, the tornadoes are usually far off in the distance and i am just watching. Only once has a tornado actually destroyed the house i was in in my dream. The pattern i have noticed for these dreams, is that the closer the tornado is to me, or the higher the number of tornadoes i can see from my vantage point, the more stress is occurring in my life at that time. Often they will also happen when i am severely repressing some emotions or having feelings i don't want to express or think about... I see the tornadoes kind of representing what is actually happening inside my head.

SO. my suggestion to you... think about your past and your current mental and emotional state. think about what the tornados mean to YOU. I am firm believer that only YOU can figure out what your dreams mean... no one else can tell you what they mean!!

so that is my two cents... that is how i figured out what tornadoes meant to me in my dreams. and it is interesting to find someone else who dreams about them... it is a fairly rare dream sign. I have made several posts on here a long time ago asking this same question and pretty much got no response.

In conclusion, this is kind of a weird question, but Awhislyle, what is your astrological sign??
Dreams are answers to questions we haven't yet figured out how to ask.

      Hey Lyle,

Well, I guess I don't have to explain how I feel about tornados (note username).

I've always been facinated by tornados (and other grand natural planetary events) for a long time. It is, in fact, the search to have more frequent dreams with tornados in them that led me to this site and lucid dreaming.

For me, tornados always made my dreams exciting. I would be terrified of them (even though I would also be captivated by their beauty), but I always found it interesting as to how many ways I would escape them.

As for general interpretation, I have read that it is a symbol of not having control of a situation in someone's life. Anxiety, etc. I agree with Pices, however, that everyone has their own personal interpretation for it.

Also, since I've identified tornados as a dreamsign, I've seen less and less of it in my dreams. Maybe it has to do with overcoming a fear - therefore no need for them to reapear? Not sure.

and it is interesting to find someone else who dreams about them... it is a fairly rare dream sign[/b]
Not so, Pieces. I know of at least two other members who have this same dreamsign. There was also a survey sent out sometime ago which included tornados as a dreamsign as one of the choices. It must be a common sign.

I'm guessing it's about arguing and shouting spinning out of control.

      tornadoes

i usually think of tornadoes having to do with shyness, or conflict. like, the tornado would be the cause of, or related to shyness or conflict that is in the waking life, because thats what dreams reflect, yourself and your life. at least non lucid dreams do lol. i used to have TONS of tornado dreams when i was a kid (16 now 8) ) and now i have them like a couple times a year. lol like never.
