I was wondering if anyone could interpret this (rat) dream for me:

I saw a huge scary spider hanging from my bed poster, so I grabbed a bug spray which was on my drawer and sprayed it at the spider. The spider's leg fell off and it died, but when it fell, a rat came out from that spot (it was dark, I couldn't see- maybe the spider turned into a rat or it was just there) and came towards me. The rat was huge, scary and I thought it was going to bite me, so I sprayed bug spray on its face. But it wasn't phased by it at all. It didn't bite me either, it just looked at me. So I opened the door, which was behind me, and it just walked out. Does anyone have any idea what this means? Why did the spider turn into a rat? Why did it just walk out the door? Maybe it was just one of those crazy dreams that don't mean anything, but I was just wondering. Thanks.

      I think
the spider turned into a rat because things are never what they seem or dark times changed the spider into a beast.

Maybe your scared of being hurt by someone you see as either a rat or spider, and by standing your ground and fighting you won't necessarily hurt or kill them, but open the door for them to walk out of your life. By the flow of the dream it sounds like you may need to let someone aggresive or someone that your fearful of out of your life.

I don't really think anyone can really give you an answer for this as it's your dream. When you woke up, how was you feeling?what where your first thoughts?

I think you misunderstood. We are not professional dream interpreters, if there is such thing. We are all just regular members with interest in dreams and dreaming.

Yes, dreams that have common themes like teeth falling out can have meaning that is very similar to many.

But without knowing more about original poster, dreams can't really be interpreted by strangers. We don't know nothing about what is the OP going through in his life right now. We don't know nothing about what spider or rat could mean to him.

That's why it's best not to pretend that we know what any dream means to OP. Every interpretation expressed here is just an opinion, not a fact. It's best if dreamer himself looks at the dream and tries to find any reflection of his life, his struggles, questions, problems, joys and see if any of it applies. And yes, how the dream makes him feel.

And yes, sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

I think that people get too caught up in the whole mystical/ mystery of dreams that they forget that the answer is probably staring right in your face. Unless you are looking for entertainment purposes only, the best person that can interpret this dreams is really yourself, right? IMO.

Fine, dreams can't be interpreted by others and the forum should be closed.

We can only give you a general interpretation of your dream because again, we don't really know you and we don't know how you really feel.
To see a rodent in your dream could symbolize filth, dirtiness, repulsiveness and death. There is a negative influence in your life.

I'm sensing that you have a feel like you are being betrayed by someone in your waking life? It sounds like you have personal issues about feeling negative.
      1. Do you have a negative influence in your life like someone how is talking down to you?
      2. Someone you thought was your friend but, they turned out to be someone is total different now?
      3. Do you sense someone is acting like a rat?
      4. Is something really bothering you?
      5. Do you have the feeling of doubts, greed, guilt, unworthiness and envy?
To be honest, you haven't told us enough information about yourself that may help.
Do you have a Dream Journal? Next time you could try to become Lucid so you can ask yourself why you are having these dreams?

Please note that as we help you, I mean that this does place not serve as a replacement for mental or psychological counseling. We are encouraged to think for themselves and keep an open mind. All interpretations are not the final word on our personal dreams and probably not be applicable to everyone here. You better off either giving more information about yourself or do the interpret yourself. To be honest, I would rather encourage you to use you own intuition, instincts, and common sense or doing your own research on your own dreams than lead you into something that won't help you in long run.
