Red face You're welcome...here are some ideas for you to ponder

      Hi Angels,
Well... the way you open yourself up is determined by you. You might be sitting there thinking this is no help to you. So what can one do to find out about themselves?

One way is to keep a dream journal. This is a way ones higher self attempts to get through our belief filters and talk to ourselves.

Another way is to listen to one's intuition. Most people don't listen and thus discard any types of things that "come to them". In my own case, this can happen in many, many different ways.

For example, sometimes a song will pop into my head "out of nowhere" or, one may play over and over and over for days, weeks or even longer. Now I know that when a song comes, I first of all ask myself, who's sending me the song? Is it my higher self, a dead loved one, a spiritual teacher or whom?

When an idea pops into one's mind, this is not a "random thing". It's coming from somewhere to the person. If one can then "feel" for the idea to understand about it, then one can choose whether or not to act upon it.

Another way is to learn to meditate. Like keeping a dream journal, both are free, but are initially hard to do. Meditation is a way of "centreing oneself upon oneself" if this makes sense. In my own case, I stopped and started meditations for 50 years, sort of going nowhere in a hurry. Then I had a near death experience (NDE) that acted as a catalyst for me to change and learn to listen to oneself.

It took me about 3 years after my NDE to focus on meditation. So I made the intent to this time "stick with it". I joined several different mediation and spiritual circles. I then learnt that in meditations, what I had been doing in the past, i.e. trying to not have any thoughts, wasn't a good method.

I learnt that thousands of years ago, the Hindi's learnt to have out of body experiences by occupying their conscious mind. They did so by contorting their bodies, requiring mental concentration. Today, this is called Yoga.

The Buddhists achieve similar results to the Hindi's by concentrating the mind with a sound...OM. They also came up with unsolveable problems that occupired the conscious mind.

Music works too..which is why many people listen to guided meditations with music.

Exercise also works. Some people who do long distant running, swimming, etc. report that they sometimes have out of body experiences while doing this.

About a year and a half ago I felt compelled to put down what I have learnt on a website. At first, I resisted the thought, since what I have learnt about meditation and dreaming is akin to less than a teaspoon of water as compared to all the waters of the oceans. However, the feeling persisted. So I created a free website "learningfrommydreams" dot com. There I put up a section of many different ways to meditate. It doesn't matter what way one does it as along as it works for the person.

Another way to get to know oneself is to expand their reading, what they watch and learn from. There are now literally hundreds of thousands or more books on self discovery. There is no one "right book" or "right person" or "right way" to do things. It is a journey of one each of us is on. Simply tell yourself each night before you're going to sleep that you are opening yourself up spiritually and ask your guides to assist as and where they see fit.

On learningfrommydreams website, I put together a long list of resources that I have found useful. However, some or none of them may work for you. You are the captain of your own spiritual ship so to speak.

A last thought from me to you is to follow any intuition about visiting people or places. No matter how crazy the idea is, follow it. By doing this, you will lead yourself down the path that is best for you.

I hope that some of this helps.

      With kind regards,
      Guy
