Dream of worms eating my fingers from the inside

Hello, I'd really appreciate if anyone could try to interpret this disturbing dream that I had. I've recently started in a very demanding but very lucrative career path which is actually my dream come true. I'm generally very happy with how it's developing so far. I've actually had very positive dreams about it until now.

Anyway, I dreamed that my fingers were full of worms crawling under the skin, at first there were unremarkable dots all over my fingers that I thought were birthmarks or brown dots on the fingernails, but then my fingers turned see-through and I could see the worms and feel them wriggling. I complained to my father and asked him to take me to see the doctor but he kept shrugging it off. Then he finally agrees to take me, but changes his mind and says we can just call him and he'll give us advice what to do. I tell him it's going to be his fault if my fingers fall off. I have a terrible sense of urgency about this because the worms are moving fast and increasing in number. At some point I can feel the pressure of the worms building up against the skin in the finger and a great number of them push out of my skin in unison. (It's as if to show my father how serious the situation is.) But I'm still skeptical and not sure they're gone, and they keep burrowing in a straight line across my finger, causing a visible, palpable dent in the flesh and making me fear that it'll fall off. The flesh in this area was creepily squishy when touched. When I woke up, I had a strange vaguely itchy feeling in that finger and I can still feel it somewhat.

I should add that I'm very concerned about my fingers in general because they're my primary tools of expression and creativity, I do art and play musical instruments with them. On many occasions I've thought that it would be horrible to lose my fingers.

There was another thing that was wrong with me in the dream and required me to see the doctor, but sadly I can't remember, no matter how hard I try. Even though I basically just woke up from the dream, and even in the dream itself I was forcing myself to remember. It's terribly frustrating.

This was the first time I dreamed of worms, and the interpretations I found online were not too helpful. It was a very intense dream and I think it's the kind that's trying to tell me something. I will be grateful to anyone who attempts to shed some light on this.

      A manifestion of fear.

Next time, just ignore such things, and they will disappear.

He's right, and that' a pretty common dream. Perhaps not worms in the fingers, because most people don't worry about their hands. Most people however have had cavities, and that kind of concern for your teeth manifests in dreams that are similar in nature to your finger one.

No meaning to be found in that dream, just a result of your attention becoming unbalanced. Too much attention on one thing and it grows out of control. Actually, it could have been a lot worse.
