Maybe our minds are somewhat aware of the fact that we are unable to move, maybe half conscious. <- Well like you have noted, "Low level lucids." Just in many cases the dreamer is not truly conscious of the fact that one, they are not in a dream, or lucid. Two, the natural SP that occurs carrying over into a dream.
If that is the case it would be a great dream sign for many people that experience a dream where they cannot move.
Whichever way you had released yourself from SP. it was just in time for you to kick some a55!!
Yeah this could be quite promising for me. In most cases I know I'm dreaming when I can't move, it almost a direct LUCID moment for me and I'm aware of my body in bed. I'm going to try to repeat this, do some sort of action (asking for help) or something similar to get me out or passed it.
