      StuartZX's Dream Planet

Hi there! I'm Stuart, know Idea what the ZX stands for (probably something like Zylophone Xtreme), and this is my dream journal.

I've had lots of dreams in my life, some weird, some scary, and some absolutely awesome. The reason I call my journal the 'Dream Planet' is because I can imagine all of my dream events existing on a dysfunctional, oddly shaped planet. I know it sounds weird, but it sort of works on a different scale.

I'll start posting my dreams in the order they appear, writing 3 different things for each:

A title - A title relevant to the dream, made using my wild imagination.
A Synopsis - A general description of the dream, telling it from start to finish.
Extra notes - Some odd things that don't connect with the dream, stuff I may have seen before in over dreams, etc.

      Well, here goes something!

      28/07/07 - Apocalypse now

The dream begins with myself standing at my Sister's bedroom's window, staring at the sun. The sun isn't too bright, so my eyes do not water, or hurt. The sun is neither white, yellow, orange, or red. It is shaped as a rocky, red, crumbling planet, with a glowing yellow aura. This does not bother me at all, I merely keep looking at it.

A yellow pulse ring shoots out from the sun, and comes to the earth very quickly, as if it were only in the sky. The pulse emerges my surrounding neighbourhood in a yellow glow for around 2 seconds. I can feel a slight shake in the earth, and windows shattering.

My mum suddenly appears and tells me that we 'have to go'. My dream-self seems to know what is going on, but I, personally, do not. It feels as if this is some sort of apocalyptic event, and that we can only escape it by running, getting off this Island.

I get this overwhelming sense of fear, and fear of death for some reason. I go down with my mum into the kitchen, and see my dad and sister there with me. My dad advises me to carry a big water bottle with me. My dream-self accepts this, although I don't know why.

We go out onto the streets, surrounded by a healthy orange glow, and go to my mum's friend's house, her name being Julie. We seem to take a few rations between her and organise them between us. Me and my mum steal some oranges, but put them back, realising that Julie is helping us all she can.

We run down the street (although not far) and join a group of people. An old friend's mum appears and says that she needs to check if everything is ready for 'launch'. She runs down through a jungle-esque pathway behind her house. Although in dream-time, this only takes 10 seconds, dream characters convince my dream-self that it has been an hour and she has returned, telling us everything is ready to go.

We go through the jungle-esque pathway, which is slightly similar to the real path behind the house.

The group ends up in a location miles away from where the pathway really goes. We end up on a beach, with thousands of people waiting on the beach.

The sun in the sky shifts colours violently, yellow to red to orange to white. People start to panic. It's too late to get off the island, and it seems that we're done for. An anime-esque girl suddenly screams that none of this is real, and that we're just dreaming it (I have to interrupt, I later really hoped this would have triggered an LD, but unfortuantely not, as this was explained in the next paragraph). People begin to accept this and fade away. I am one of the last ones waiting on the beach. Jack Bauer form the tv show 24 appears and says that he can hold off the sun, but not for long. I raise my head, and flash into whiteness.

The dream switches to 3rd person view.

I emerge, not as myself, but as an 11 year old black haired boy, wearing a virtual reality headset that looks like someone stook a sattelite to my head.

      End of Dream.

      Notes
      • The sense of 'fear of death' is the most realistic sense of fear I have ever experienced in a dream. Although I have had much scarier dreams, but not as mentally fearful as this one.
      • The carrying of the water bottle (the type used in office coolers) was probably the most realistic sense of weight i've had in a dream. I had to pick it up different ways to actually keep it held in my hands.

29/07/07 - Welcome to the academy

The dream begins with me walking up to a mini caslte, about the size of a hotel. Apparently, I'm on some sort of school trip with a load of other boys (no girls).

Not much really happens for the first half of the dream. I make small talk with all of the boys, walking around the castles extremely hazy setting.

I eventually go up to my dormitory, but for some reason sneak out. I don't know what I'm doing, but from what I could gather from my emotions in the dream, I was trying to escape from the castle, perhaps from home-sickness.

I return for an unknown reason, and am met with quite a feud. I'm accompanied by a few teachers (including for some unkwon reason my social worker friend) who tells me I've done something very bad indeed ( ) . I don't know what it is, but they said they 'caught' me because I actually took a step out of my bed in the dormitory, apparently onto some sort of laser-detection device (what happens if someone needs the bathroom? ).

I then take a walk onto the streets, and the location of the castle is apparently in the 'Parallel world' of the Dream Planet, and is made up of various harbours, roads and buildings from far away parts in the real world.

      End of Dream.

      Notes
      • I get quite a realistic sense of home-sickness in this dream, although I can't remember ever experiencing home-sickness in any dream I've ever had.

So, what on EARTH is the 'Dream Planet'?

So I gave it, what, a line in my first post, and mentioned it without explanation in the others? Nah, that's not enough.

The dream planet is the image of a huge, planet, where almost all of my dreams take place. It is effin huge, about 10 times the size of Earth, is home to a small selection of weird and wonderful creatures, is quite a dysfunctional shape (mountains and deserts sticking out, and closer than they would be geographically), and has a moon orbiting above, which actually has a citadel on it.

The dream planet consists only of things I have experienced in my dreams, and nothing else.

The reason why I think of most of my dreams taking place in one planet, is because a lot of my dreams have themes connected to them. For instance, a lot of my dreams have alternate universe type settings in them, hence, a part of the dream planet is dedicated to alternate universes colliding with each other. I'll also get Deja vu in dreams, telling myself that I've dreamed/experienced that before.

Although I've edited and expanded the idea to fit almost any of my dreams, there are still a few that creep up that are extremely hard to place into it. I'll list them here:

      28/07/07 - Apocalypse now

Because a lot of my dreams have distinct themes, I've split the dream planet into several 'themed' continents, including, but not limited to:

      Parallel Universe Continent

Featured in quite a few of my dreams, I first experienced it escaping my school riding the back of a horse with my friend into a tornado, ending up there. No, I'm somewhat serious :p .

Several Parallel versions of my friends and family exist, usually just being a gender reversal. This continent also mixes up a lot of places I have seen (that exist far away from each other) and mashes them into a new setting.

A lot of my 'more memorable' dreams have existed here, hence the reason why it is the biggest continent there.

      The completely F'd up continent

Not much to say here. From 2 second dreams involving pogo sticks, to 2 hour long dreams involving Spaghetti, ANYTHING can happen here, hence why most of my dreams take place here.

      The 'Real World' continent

This is basically a mirror image of the real world, where it isn't the environment that makes the dream, it is rather, the event.

Quite a lot of interesting stuff happens here. Aliens blow up my first school, and I do battle with vampires in the town hall.

      The Warlord continent

Where most of my nightmares, or 'high action' dreams take place. It's quite a frightening place, with aliens and warlords everywhere. They seem to be all huddled together, exiled from the main dream world. Although, when faced with the powers of 'The One' (aka, me when I'm Lucid ) they're as harmless as a feather.

      Stuart's continent

Huh? A whole continent to myself? You bet ya!

This is basically my playground. I can only access this part of the dream world when I'm lucid, and hence, becomes the place of the planet where I can literally do anything I want.

      The Lunar Citadel

Not much is known about this part of the dream planet. I've only ever had one dream about it. It consists of a sort of Utopia, with friendly greeting citizens, flying cars and gigantic white buildings. Almost everyone and everything is coated in white. There is no dome concealing the citadel, for an unkown reason everything works fine without a dome.

My mind accepts the dream planet within my dreams as well, as when I was in the Lunar Citadel, I saw the dream planet, almost exactly as I imagined it to be.

      Space

Space exists of the section between the Lunar Citadel and the dream planet.
Not much to say here either, except all of my dreams in space are set here.

Stars exist as well, I sometimes see them in dreams. So who knows, If I have enough dreams, I could expand the 'Dream Planet' Idea into a Dream Universe!

Anyway, that's my description of my idea of the Dream Planet. Hope you like it!

      06.08.07 - Sweet Natalie

The dream begins with an odd sense of dream-déjà vu (the type of dream where your sure bits like it have happened in previous dreams). I am climbing through the back window of the girl I have a crush on’s house (and yes, she’s called Natalie) for an unknown reason (which is odd, because her house is in a terrace and shouldn’t have a window there). Her mum suddenly catches me trying to escape. I panic and try to make an excuse of why I’m there, but she says ‘It’s fine’.

The dream shifts at this part to me back in the house. Natalie is sitting with her red-haired friend on the couch. Natalie looks like she does in real life. Blonde hair, green eyes, young and beautiful. I’m standing right behind them, in a ghostly state. They can’t see me, I can see them. But I get this feeling that Natalie sort of acknowledges I’m there.

The scene semi-shifts to me running out of their house, but from the outside it looks like my house. My dad, mum and sister are all running from it as well. My dad starts acting like a little kid, giggling and putting his hand over his mouth. As we’re running away, my dad says rather loudly ‘YOU love Natalie!’ I look back for a fraction of a second, and see her and her mum. She has a surprised, yet interested look on her face. I don’t stop though to go back to her, I simply keep on running.

The dream shifts again to me walking with some people to what looks like top secret building (it’s called ‘The ministry’ and isn’t that secret seeing as it’s a blue glass square building on a field). Everybody walking to this place is carrying a light blue backpack with them. Again, I get a feeling of ‘I shouldn’t be here’. When the time comes to enter the building, everyone goes in, except me. I run up the nearby hill instead and join a group of other people wearing the same type of backpack. A guy in front of me starts running, and I speed up to him. We start to race each other.

The scene shifts once more to a snowy shot of the village I live in, where everything is covered in snow. Me and him are racing on the nearby hills. I overtake him, running at my fastest, but he then overtakes me. I feel like I can’t catch up with him, but I speed up, jump, where we both come to a stop on a metal platform with a scrolling text screen, making out some odd letters. We both land in the same place, and he says that a draw’s not so bad. Whatever race I just had, it seems we drew it.

The dream shifts a final time to a sort of summer, 60’s, lightened movie I’m watching in my head. It contains some vivid images of Natalie, and me comparing her to a ‘yellow’ tetris block, and comparing myself to a ‘purple’ tetris block. My mind starts to wake up, but before I do I see an image of her smiling looking at me, and the word ‘beautiful’ uttered in my head.

      End of dream.

LD No. 1: Flight of the prawn boy

I don't remember much of this dream, but I do remember snippets of it, thank god, as this was my first lucid dream in god knows how long.

I’m going into my regular school, which my mind knows is set in the summer. I sometimes question myself throughout the dream, ‘Why am I going to school during summer?’ I ask myself that several times. I sit in a hallway in my school that has magically transformed into a classroom with all of my classmates sitting there. All of a sudden, we have to go outside for some sort of event (long , white, pointy card racing each other infront of the school’s entrance. The scene shows us going downstairs through my friends house for an odd reason. What’s even more stranger is that all of my primary school friends, who don’t go to my normal school, are there too. I race down the stairs, through a couple of doors, and we’re suddenly at the school’s entrance. We watch the cars for a few seconds, me on my own.

The scene shifts to me at my house. Apparently I’ve walked home because I am confused at whether I should be in school or at home, seeing as it’s the summer, trying to make sense of all of this (with, for some reason, an LCD screen hanging on the nearby parks’ gates). I look at my watch, 1:35, and realise that I only have 20 minutes to go back to school before m next lesson begins. The fastest I’ve ever got home from school by walking is 35 minutes. I start to panic, and so ask my dad if he can drive me there. My sister also comes along, also wondering why we’re at school in summer.

While we drive along, I see places miles apart from each other in real life. When my dad drops us off in school, I go to my same classroom, and look around for a seat, even though there are plenty empty. When I sit down, a sudden spark courses through my mind, the entire dream scene shifting.

I had become lucid. I don’t know how, perhaps my mind had finally recognised it was summer time, not school time. I was lucid in my neighbourhood. Wanting to explore, I walk up to a random person’s house, open the door, and find a woman in Japanese clothing, bending down. Disturbed, I slam the door behind me, wondering what to do. I decide to try out all of this flying business, climbing onto my garage, and onto a house’s roof. There seems to be an almost moon like feel to the gravity in the dream world, but my jumps become higher when I mutter to myself that it’s all a dream. Eventually, I lift off and rocket myself in a loop de loop over my whole village (it felt AWESOME).

While I was jumping I was hesitant not to hurt myself for some reason. To prove to myself that the dream world is completely harmless, I rocket through a random person’s window. A dream character comes up to me and says the following:

‘What are you doing? If you want to know who’s in those houses, just use this!’

She then handed me an odd looking gadget, sort of like an old fashioned mobile phone, that I could use to see whoever’s in those houses, with their faces appearing on screen. I chuckle a bit to myself, wondering how on earth my brain works fast and good enough to make these type of experiences. I run around for a bit, seeing if I recognise anybody special on the little gadget.

The scene shifts again, to a slightly more futuristic, and completely different to anything I’ve ever seen (I’m still lucid) Another dream character warns me that it’s a bit dangerous around here. I pick up a bit of paper, but become worried when I see a flash of my actual eyes opening, with my bedroom window coming into view. I panic, and the dream starts to fade away. I focus on the text, forcing with all my might for it to come back. It does, and I return to the dream. A young dream character boy runs up and starts yelling that there’s two ‘angry boys’ coming out. Of a nearby under-way. I see them coming out of the tunnel, and decide to test my lucid strength. I hit one of them in the stomach, and it sends them plummeting on in the distance, I kick the other one, and he collides with a building, which collapses on top of him. I become amazed at my own strength. A blonde haired girl comes up to me and thanks me for protecting her from those two. I tell her to not mention it, but she invites me over into her house, just for tea.

      End of Dream.
