So, i remembered my dream when i woke up, but then lost it because i didn't get up right away. i think I started to take dream recall a bit too for granted and thought i would still remember as I woke up. I will be more careful in the future. I do remember that before I fell asleep I had a hypnic jerk- which made me aware of my HI for the first time. I was in a sort of hypnogogic dream scene and i was rushing down some stairs in my stiletto boots, and all of a sudden I pitched forward. My muscles spasmed in bed and it felt like landing on my bed. I realized that since I knew what it was I thought back and realized i'd had HI kind of flitting in and out of my "sight" for a while before the hypnic jerk.

      Talking Wow

I can't believe I am in so many of your dreams...I'm sincerely touched *does the whole sobbing actress thing* I would like to take this opportunity to thank... [insert long monologue here].

But seriously, I envy the fact that you're dreams are so interesting...I'll probably try to analyze the next one you have.

^for anyone reading that, to put the situation in context, EKaterina is my old roomie
and Ekaterina, I am sad that you are withholding the long monologue from us. I bet you could analyze the next one, knowing me as well as you do. :p
I'll try to have a good one tonight!

So, I went through a bit of a recall slump lately and haven't bothered posting just to say "nothing remembered". However I remembered my dream this morning! It was quite vivid because i had woken up and gone back to sleep for an hour. I was in my room at my parents' house (but it was unlike my actual room) and I was preparing for a bath but decided to try on some clothes for fun first. I got out my knee high black leather boots with stiletto heels (which I have in real life but don't look as slutty as they're about to sound)
and put on this gorgeous corset thing, it was this light ivory color with some black trim, but it also sometimes changed to a goldenish color with chocolate trim when I wasn't paying attention, hehe. Anyways I wandered around the house in it and stared in the mirror, when suddenly I realized it was too big for me. I tied it up as tight as i could in the back but it still hung loosely. I decided I needed to go to the mall and get one just like it in the store. When I got there the store had turned into this huge department type Menards store even though it was still called "Laberge Corsets" (lol!) So I asked about corsets and they said they didn't carry them anymore. i didn't believe the salespeople so I infiltrated the loading room and saw them carrying corsets in (which were packed in these long ikea-like boxes with a pic of a corset on the side) I approach a salesman and accuse him of lying and start screaming at him. He said, Ok we have them but only after 12:30, we won't sell any of these before then. I threatened to beat him up and he allowed me to start wandering amongst the merchandise and picking a corset. I woke up before ever buying one.

Haha, that's funny. Sneaking, spying, and threatening violence - all for a corset!

yeah and the original corset (the one that inexplicably became too big) was so realistic. I remember I could feel the silky fabric, and at one point when it got too big, i took it off and began tying the black silk thread at the back tighter and I could feel myself tying the thread, etc. My dreams usually aren't that oriented around the senses. I was much more aware of my dream-body in this dream than I usually am...
oh, and the sneaking, spying and threatening was more out of indignation with the store for misrepresentation and inexplicable lying than out of a desperate need for a corset, lol. I may have been more indignant than i would be if i were faced with the same situation in real life, which is wildly improbable. I wonder though if the store name "Laberge Corsets" was a sign from my mind that i was dreaming and should become lucid?

My dreams don't want me to go lucid. If I about go lucid, I wake up. Lol, I like that you did so much for that corset. Comedy central lol.

Well you certainly know what you want.

I'm kind off scared now. We will have to get your lucid dreaming up to snuff, otherwise well I might have to cross your path.

I remembered my dream this morning...but then i didn't have a chance to jot it down right away (I know, shame on me). Luckily I do remember it was quite a nondescript dream...

ok, so I promised i'd try my hand at interpretation. granted it is 1:30 and I have no idea how to do good interpretations, I'll probably be making random guesses. Here are the dream symbols and their acutal meanings:

      corset--yelizaveta's boyfriend or love life
      mirror-- illusion
it being to big---...ummm...weight issues? jk. too many demands made of yelizaveta.
      lying representative--trust issues
finding a new corset-- .........it's so OBVIOUSLY sex. i don't know. but it's what Freud might say

so....maybe you can tell me if i might possibly be on the right track?

Good point! I didn't pick that up on the first or even the second read. Laberge, duh! Definitely do an RC if you ever hear the name Laberge.

Well, didn't sleep last night so therefore didn't dream. I hope this at least means I will have plenty of REM tonight and will remember lots tomorrow!

hmm so based on your interpretation, I first thought my boyfriend looked great with me but then he suddenly became unfit. I looked in the mirror and realized the looking great was really an illusion. my boyfriend made too many demands. I go to find a new boyfriend, but my trust issues get in the way.

grim dream...I sure hope that's not what it meant my bf and i are great together...

EDIT: looked up some of the words in a dream dictionary:
      "Corset

To see or wear a corset in your dream, indicates restraint and restrictions. You may be feeling limited. Alternatively, it may mean that you have a tendency to hold in your displeasure in order to please others. "

      Mirror

To see your own reflection in the mirror, suggests that you are pondering thoughts about your inner self. The reflection in the mirror is how you perceive yourself or how you want others to see you. You may be contemplating on strengthening and changing aspects of your character.

hmm so i saw myself in a corset in a mirror.

Well if you run with Freud it's all sex.

Agree with your "trust issues" - but as dreams are all about us it's Y's own "inner sales rep" that she doesn't trust. Some voice inside her that's giving her bs.

I won't speculate on the corset - perhaps something to do with feeling you'd fall apart without one? So yes, "too many demands" works for me.
      (Too much weight LOL )

What do you think of the dream dictionary offerings?
(Sometimes I find they help but other times definitely not)

i'm thinking that the mirror analysis in the dream dictionary is helpful but the corset one is not. The way i felt in the corset was very positive. I looked in the mirror and was just like, "wow i look good", it was more decorative than restrictive (it didn't tie too tight and didn't alter my waist size)
so in conclusion, i have no idea!

      Haha. Me neither.
For mirrors in my dreams, I tend to go with the "how I think others see me" definition.

Well, they do say how what you feel is a better interpretation than what an actual dicitonary say. perhaps it was just a plot device of some sort, trying to bring you to other issues--like the lying sales rep. i have no idea.

Yes, definitely start with feelings and work from there. Well, it works for me like that. Kind of "what was going on for/with me in that dream".

Why do I feel I need a Russian name to be in this thread?

LOL you don't! My friend's middle name is Ekaterina, but she isn't russian...at all.
      i appreciate your feedback.
But maybe we should start calling you Igor in here. Or Boris. Or Vasya. I like Vasya, it's short for Vassily.

Thanks. Igor, yes I like that. Reminds me of old films. Like Vladimir . Vasya. Don't think I've come across that name. How about Josef? Or is that as popular now as Adolf in Germany.

Finally, a decent dream I remember!
I don't remember the beginning of the dream quite as well, but I'm in a school on the beach, which has very modernistic architecture. Some girl is making disparaging comments about said architecture, and I get angry. I go inside to take a quiz. The room is long and rectangular with panoramic views of the beach. I get handed my quiz, which has 4 words on it, one for each quarter of a page. We are supposed to write something interesting pertaining to each word. I wish I remembered the words! Then I head home from school, and I see a human hand sticking out of my garbage. For some reason I'm living with this gypsy type woman who puts on airs and is easily irritated. I ask her why there's a hand in our garbage. She tells me she found an animated dead body, but he annoyed her so she threw him away. At this point the hand waves at me and I am like, Oh why are you so mean?! And I dig the dead body out of the garbage. It has very living looking hands and arms but its face seems to be covered in a few bandages like a mummy. I start talking to him, and he turns out to be a very nice person, who I guess just woke up from being dead? We really hit it off and as we talk he becomes more and more human, until he just looks like a living person. At this point the gypsy woman tells me I'm going on some sort of boat trip and the dead guy's not invited. He says, oh well I'll accompany you downstairs. So we take the elevator and he remarks, "oooh the elevator doors slide so much more smoothly now than when I died" I asked him when he died, and he said "2001". We get downstairs and I realized I forgot to bring everything appropriate for a boat trip. I have no shoes on and am dressed in a fur coat even though it's warm. The gypsy woman is sitting at a long table on the beach with many other people for some sort of going away feast. She just reprimands me and throws me a pair of slippers. Somehow I adjust myself and sit down. The dead guy insists on pouring wine for everyone and I can tell he's trying to win the gypsy over. In the end, everyone at the table likes him and he piles onto the boat with us.
I also remember another dream where I'm at home and I'm running to go somewhere and I get in the car and there's a stylist in there, who tells me I called her to do some styling. I say, "ok, my beard is getting long" and as I drive she uses an electric shaver to shave off the beard. Then I go, while you're here, please wax my eyebrows, so I'm driving my car while she waxes my eyebrows. It was really strange...especially since I am a girl and still identified with myself as me and as a girl in the dream, even though I suddenly had a beard.

      EDIT:
Reading through my first dream, I can't help but think it was my mind trying to rationalize death, pretend a dead person can come back and be fine. A friend of mine passed away yesterday, but I was mostly in shock, and I still can't really believe that i'll never talk to him or see him again.

So this is what happened in your dream, you want to take a dead person with you, but the gypsy says that you have to leave him behind. I think your "edit" part is pretty right on. The rest doesnt really reflect any visible meaning.
