I was asleep for the past six hours, and all I have is a jumble of fragments:

My hands were stained permanently orange from eating cheetos.

The river had flooded the jogging trail that runs aside it, and I couldn't inflate a pool-raft so I wasn't allowed in the water.

Every pair of underwear I own had a hole in the butt from excessive farting, and this was apparently a ticket-able offense.

I got a new processor for my computer, but all the pins were bent or broken.

The bank was mad at me for depositing play money.. again, and this was the absolute last time they would honor it.

Maybe I should have just stayed up?

I was in chat around 3am Saturday morning, and I'd mentioned that I've had lucid dreams every Saturday morning after staying up late in chat for the past 4 weeks. That's about the time my hard drive crashed, and left me spending most of the weekend getting everything recovererd. But in the meantime I went lucid again Saturday morning for the fifth week in a row now.

I was too busy with getting the hardware fixed to spend the time I should have on recall, but I recall a very clear scene at the beginning of this lucid.

I was walking through the door of a small local supermarket, and as I passed through to the inside of the market, a feeling suddenly came upon me. This is a dream. Nothing was out of place, lucidity just clicked on. I walked over to a shelf and inspected a kleenex box. The pattern on the box as well as the seams were crisp and clear, I looked more closely to read any writing on the box, but it was all gibberish. Perhaps if I had a clearer notion what the box should have written on it, it would have been there. I put down the box and inspected the "feel" of the lucidity. It seemed very solid and not likely to fade. I tried to get that feeling of fading clarity, but the scene would only oscillate slightly and came right back. I walked down the aisle and turned left and decided it was time to summon. "Bring me a ghost!", I called out to nobody in particular. A woman immediately rode up on a horse, and said, "Are you looking for a ghost?", "Yes", I replied, "Would that be you?", She shook her head, "No, but I can bring you one", She rode off and soon another woman approached me from the direction to which the first woman had rode off. "You're the ghost?", I asked. "Yes, I am a ghost", she agreed. "Do you do frightening ghost things?", I inquired. "No, I'm not that kind of ghost.", she answered. I floated up a few feet in the air and hung there, "Can you do this?", I asked. "Sure I can.", and she floated up in the air across from me. I thought suddenly to ask, "What is the nature of this exchange?", She drifted to the ground and replied, "You are dreaming, and as your dream would have it, I'm a ghost." "I want to give you a name...", I began, "I couldn't accept a name from you", she replied. This was getting interesting. I've never really tried to find a dream guide, but I was guessing I might have one here. "What's on the other side of that wall?", I pointed to an opening,"Could you tell me that?". She smiled, "I could but I won't". About this time, I started moving around trying to destabilize the dream, and it still held quite solid despite my efforts. Recall fades severely here, and I remember very little about being on a passenger train.

So I guess I didn't bother to try the 360° spinning exercise I've been wanting to do, but the idea of conversing with someone in a dream who is clued into the situation has gotten a lot more interesting.

Sounds like a very interesting dream. Sorry you can't recall more then this sceen though it sounds like it would have been like a great dream .

      Absolutely amazing.

I always find conversations with dream characters intriguing. Of course, I see it as jsut an illusion of an independent entity... but its scary what can happen.

Next time we're in chat, if you have any details, lets talk Mr Ears.

Someone might ask why I disengaged from a perfectly good conversation with someone who knew the score, so to speak, in my dream.

That someone would be me, and I'm kicking myself for it. Funny thing, our attention span during dreams.

      Yeah. Its really too bad.

Perhaps she did take you on a tour, then somehow convinced you to forget it. That'd be funny.

I particularly enjoyed your ghost moment.

I've been over-tired since my last post, so I made up for it by going to bed at 11:30 Friday night and mostly sleeping until 6PM Saturday interrupted occasionally by my grandson getting me up to make him something to eat or changing a movie for him. For the first time in over a month of Saturdays, I wasn't lucid at all.

I've had no recall the past few days, but during this 18+ hours of on again off again sleep, I dreamed like crazy, but only one fragmentary dream stands out, and if I can even put it together, it will be worth posting.

So I've been pretty busy lately, and my sleep habits have suffered as a result. I guess I can't always be entertained by my dreams!

Insomnia is no fun, I had it a lot this past week. Wednesday brought that feeling at the base of my skull that tells me a migraine is coming. It came and I'm still suffering from it, but at least I'm sleeping since I can't do much but lie down lately. Recall is back but the tag-team of insomnia/migraine has made it so journaling isn't a high priority. It's difficult to type when sitting-up equals throwing-up.

      It's time for another list:

Top one thing I'd like to be doing right now

      1. Not having a migraine.

The next time I'm sitting down to dinner with someone in a non-lucid dream, while discussing lucid dreaming with that person, remind me to do a reality-test by sticking a salad-fork into my eye...

No, use a spoon, and scoop your eye out. Then either the excrutiating pain from the dull instrument, or the fact that you're looking up at yourself from the salad will tell you you are dreaming.

      Always here to help ^_^

I've got some new drugs for my migraines, and one of them makes me want to do nothing but sleep, so I guess I've solved the insomnia too. On the other hand, I've also solved dream recall, I can't remember a thing. I took my first dose yesterday evening and went out like a light at 10:30, and I didn't wake up at all until 8:30 in the morning. It was like I closed my eyes and opened them again, and no time passed between.

If I have to choose between remembering dreams or having migraines, screw the recall.. at least for awhile. I'm sure I'll adjust to the drugs... I hope. Meanwhile, I never get to bed before midnight, and here I am ready to call it a night and it's not even 10:00 yet.

      Just wow.

I can remember a single 30 second fragment since I started these pills back on Wednesday and I'm sleeping all the time. This is a quarter of the regular dose? Just wow. Oh, yea, the 30 second fragment was pretty gay, so we won't be discussing it here. On top of that, I'm feeling prodrome symptoms coming on for another round of headache fun since I'm not nearly up to full dose sleepiness yet.

So welcome to my, "I used to remember my dreams so I'll just sit and whine journal". Yea, thrilling.

Maybe I should give advice instead..

Hey all you under 25's, you know how you can avoid a lot of aches and pains? Don't live past 40.

      Naw, too practical.

Saturday night, there was only one thing for it: Skip the damned pill so I could spend the day Sunday running around the mountains with my grandson in a non-zombiefied condition.

Funny thing.. I ended up dreaming with clarity, recall, and some pretty rich detail. That I had two lucids was gravy.

In the first, I was just lying down on the ground looking around the corner of a building at the alley behind. I guess I was pretty tired in this lucid... not too surprising, all things considered lately. The scene was crystal-clear, and I was just content to lay there and enjoy it for it's unchanging steadiness.

In the second, I had moved out of state and was aggravating over all the information I would have to update. I was in an office building to take care of a couple items when I went lucid. This was a relief because I really wasn't happy about all the work. One of my buddies from work showed up about this time and we decided to play "brick tag", a game in which we could materialize bricks at will and the various DC's in the building were "it". He really wasn't sure about his place in the whole thing until I told him that he was with me, and he had the same power to produce bricks from thin-air that I did. We were getting some good shots in on fleeing DC's at 30 feet or more.. FLING!!!!!! WHAM!! Right in the back of the head. Spectacular!

It was a damned shame my girlfriend woke me up about this time to let me know she was headed home.

I suppose you were relieving stresses by battering DCs... XD

In defense of brick-tag, I'm glad I dreamed it up. I intend to play it again and I recommend it highly to others. There is more to lucid dreaming than tasks and goals: There is recreation. AspiR hit the nail on the head, I've been having a very stressful time of it lately. My head has been a mess and I'm only now starting to get used to the pills I've been taking for it. I needed to spend a bit of lucid time doing something entirely juvenile and immensely fun.

I've not skipped a pill since the night before the brick-tag game, and I was supposed to double the dose yesterday, but I'm waiting until the weekend in case it throws me for a loop. Perhaps not coincidentally, I've also not really had many memorable dreams since the brick-tag lucid either. I am getting more and more fragments, so I've just got to ride it all out. One pill a day was rough starting out, and I'm a bit intimidated by the thought that I'm supposed to work my way up to four pills a day over the course of a month. Can't I just take a single time-release horse-pill once a day and have done with it?

You'll move up to four pills, and keep taking them... forever? o0
I am posting on topic elsewhere for the most part.

My DJ here at DVs, Realized Aspiration only contains old dreams. I'll be around for the occasional chat, and some unfinished/unstarted RPs.

And you, yeah you, with the ice cream hands. You, yeah you, are my friend. ~ Still my mentor, and an awesome guy.

If they're effective, that's very possible. You have to understand that I've been plagued by these headaches on and off for nearly the past decade. In their milder form, I can be moderately inconvenienced for 2 or 3 days. At their worst, I can be severely limited for the better part of 5 days. I had been misdiagnosed up until earlier this month. The doctors always diagnosed severe sinus problems, yet the conventional treatments for sinus troubles did f*ck-all to help.

I must say, my head's been feeling great these past couple days.

I'm remembering fragments, and I've got a few in no particular order.

My grandson and I are sitting on the couch. On the coffee-table is a plate stacked high with Little Debbie Swiss Rolls. Anybody with a hole in their ass knows that Little Debbie Swiss Rolls are a truly outstanding snack. I take a roll and eat it. My grandson does likewise. He looks at me challengingly. Game on! I quickly eat another. He matches my effort. Now it's a race. We're both madly stuffing Swiss Rolls into our mouths as quickly as we can.

A narrow creek runs through a run-down industrial looking building. I'm stepping over and around the channel and small side-creeks as I investigate the cool old machinery.

I am only somewhat embarrassed to be caught out in my underwear. It seems that pants, while highly encouraged, are not entirely mandatory.

Indians are running video poker out of my garage. If I go along with it, they promise to control the weather for me.

The bank pays me in monopoly money.
(possibly because I've done it to them once too often in other dreams?)

Steve, my old college roommate, and present-day attorney is in jail for contempt, and I've got to defend him.

See the problem in my last post? They're all fragments. I can remember a one or two line summary about the dreams, but that's the end of it.

It was the same thing earlier this evening when I fell asleep watching Ghosthunters on my girlfriend's couch. This ghost owed me money, and I was pissed because I couldn't get my hands on him.

You'd think there would be more detail than that. Recall sucks salty-balls lately.

I was sleeping in the men's restroom at work, not the one-seater in the back that I like due to the privacy, but the two-seater up front. My clothes were neatly hung over the top of the stall, and I had a blanket draped over me. It seems the shitter was my bed. Folks came and went, but nobody paid me any notice.

      Thankfully, that is all.

I've had two dreams that were clear and memorable in the past week or so. Here's one of them.

I was in a late nineteenth-century farm-house where I spent 6 months caretaking after I graduated college. It was a big creepy place, especially the older part. A significant addition was made in the early twentieth century, bringing the room total to around 20. I could shut off the newer part from the older part by closing a couple doors upstairs and downstairs, and I usually did because the older part of the house always felt cold and unwelcoming. Still, occasionally, boredom would drive me to the downstairs parlor on the older side to dink around loudly on a baby grand piano in the corner. I reasoned that, perhaps, if anyone might still linger, there might be a fair chance they appreciate music, however pooly played. I was in the kitchen which was located in the downstairs back corner of the house, and I turned toward the breakfast nook in far the back corner. The long table and two long benches were there, but oddly, the back window and wall were missing. I slid along a bench and through, and found myself in a wide modern corridor. Along the far wall were consessions, much like a food-court might be set up. I was disappointed. The owners of the property had gone commercial! I walked down the corridor, largely ignoring the food consessions, and I saw that an opening had been created between the back wall of the old kitchen (at the approximate center of the house) and the corridor. A few people milled in and out. I had always had a particular aversion to the old kitchen. In the late 19th century, the women who ruled that kitchen welcomed nobody there, it was solely her domain. A hundred years later, I could feel that forbidding. Even though I didn't much like that kitchen, I thought of how it had been desecrated with that passageway to the corridor and the food-court, and I felt a brief sadness along with a tear to my right eye. No boo-hoo'ing, just a quick feeling that I soon brushed aside and I moved on and soon found a door leading outside. I was at the opposite back corner of the house now, on the older side, and I was curious to see how a large garden I had landscaped was doing. I remembered a week of back-breaking work and since I knew I was in the present-day, I was aware I'd not seen the garden in around 20 years. It was in shambles, with broken dirt covered in bare twisted vines and jumbled tree-stumps. The rock-work was thrown down and in ruins.

I didn't wake up, but recall ends here. I don't often look for meaning in my dreams, but this one has some. I'm giving it a lot of thought.

I'm officially off the pills that were helping with the headaches but making me sleep all the time and be stupid at work. Now I'm waiting for mid-June to see a neurologist who might be able to match me up with something that'll do the trick and not turn me into a zombie in the process. I've got a handful of samples of some drug that seems to work by not necessarily taking care of the headache but it will just make me feel so groovy I won't care. Isn't modern medicine great?
