      Aether's Dream Journal

Hey. Even though this is my first experience with Dream Views forum, I have already written some of my dreams on a notebook I used to have, and I have always liked to talk about my dreams, trying to understand them.

Right, this will be my Dream Journal. I haven't been having many dreams very often , so I may stop posting for a while, or at least until I have anything else to post here.
I'll be adding info to this first post when I feel like I should make a dream list or add more details.

It's been quite a long time since I had dreams that I could remember after waking up, and the funny thing is that while trying hard to recall some dreams I had in the past 4 months, I got one more thanks to a word I read. The word instantly rang a bell. It's funny how our brain works, because I had already come across that same word million times today and just now, that my mind knew what I was looking for, I realised I had a dream involving that thing. Just for the record, the word is "dog".

This dream happened, I dunno, last month or something around that.

Dog, the Rooster and Time Travelling.

Not sure if I was coming back from school or going out, but I was with my ex-pet. Anyhow, we, me and the dog, were walking down the street. I had my dog on my hands, and as I carried him, suddenly, a Rooster appeared. Nameless to me, the Rooster seemed to have been my pet for a long period of time, and I liked him a lot. I could see Dog's facial expression very clearly, and he was really young. I stopped to think about it now, and I believe I was younger too, and so "was" the street.

Some stuff that were added recently weren't there, and some places that used to be there before looked like they were opened, once again. Everything was just fine, but then, out of the blue, Dog ran towards the other sidewalk, crossing the street. So did the Rooster, and a car hit him.
A car ran over the dog, just as he was almost reaching the sidewalk, and I went running for him.

I took Dog on my arms (the Rooster seemed critically wounded, and "there was nothing I could do to smashed animals", I thought to myself) and went back to the sidewalk. Then I asked for help, for medical assistance whatsoever, and suddenly, some random guy, perhaps a friend of mine came to me and said, looking a bit mad: "There's nothing you can do. It's over!" After he said that, I looked at Dog's wounds and some of his organs fell down. I felt its texture, it looked like spaghetti or something like that. The dream was over and I woke up, screaming.

Last night was tough. Besides not being in the mood to sleep by 11pm, which is my regular sleeping time (I have to be up by 6 am everyday, so I prefer sleeping earlier), it was darn hot and the air was extremely dry. I find it hard to breathe in situations like that, I'm more of a winter person (though it's awfully dry on winter too).

I don't remember having any dream at all. This year has been almost dreamless so far. Does anybody have any advice about dream recall?
      Well, nothing to report, then...

Hey, don't be so hard on yourself when you cannot remember a dream. Sometimes I have a have periods when I cannot remember any dreams for weeks, sometimes even months on end.

I have read man times, especially from Jungian dream analysts, that dreams will come when your subconscious needs to inform you of something or when you need guidance and reassurance. If no dreams appear, perhaps you just do not need to learn anything about yourself from yourself right at this very moment.

Don't worry about it too much. I assume that you are young and thus have many years in which to hone your dream recall and understanding of them! There are lots of threads on this forum in regards to inproving dream recall and you can find them in the Dream Signs and Recall section.

      Good luck, eh!

Alright, thank you. I just miss having lots of dreams every now and then, they were fun even when nightmares. I'll check some tips and advice out.

I finally had a new dream last night, and I managed to remember most of it. Once I was up, I went looking for a notebook where I could try to write my dream on. I was really surprised by how many stuff I could recall and how writing it down helped. It really worked for me.
      Anyway, here's last night's dream:

      Receiving my grade report.

I was entering a building, and a friend was coming with me. It was raining a lot, and when we went through the main gate, we found a way to the building's hall that had been specially made for rainy / sunny days: all the way was covered by some kind of protection, that acted as a roof.
Just as we got there, me and my firend, we found a door, and by opening it we were, somehow, at school, having a biology class. The class seemed bigger and darker, and the teacher was using Power Point slides. The slides started to fail miserably (the computer wasn't working), and some students were beginning to ask the teacher for something else instead of biology slides. It looked like that made sense and, apparently, they wanted to watch films.

When the class was almost over, the teacher turned into a feminine version of my current geography teacher, and that was really creepy. Now as a fat man/woman, the teacher started giving us our grade reports, and instead of numbers, the grades were represented by cars. If I got that right, the more fancy, expensive and powerful your car is, the higher your grade. I remember getting a bit disappointed when checking my friend's cars. They looked way better than mine, and as I was looking at the papers, I realised there were some notes and observations like "add 1 more point here" (I think I hadn't got enough points, and I needed more, so the teacher felt bad for me and was trying to help), and some of them were from my english teacher. It seemed I was doing bad so far, and at the very end I recall having a conversation with my maths teacher. Dunno what was it about.
