I usually wake up after every single dream that I have. It shouldn't really affect your sleep if you can get back to sleep immediately. If you don't want to, you don't have to write down the less vivid dreams early in the night. I don't always do that either. I still get 3-6 dreams a night even if I skip a few.
Thing is, on school nights, I'd advise against going to bed at 7PM. 10PM sounds like a much better time, and you won't get into such a weird rhythm. It depends on how early you have to get up, though.
