      beginning a dj without dreams?

i never remember my dreams, except when i was a kid. the only other three ive remembered were extremely strange and one of them was my lucid, and i had my lucid and the other one in one night.

so how do i begin a dream journal if i cant remember my dreams in the first place?
      help would be greatly appreciated

Moved to dream signs and recall.

Just wanting to recall your dreams will get you going in the right direction. When you wake up, try to lay still for a while and recall any dreams you had. If you remember anything, even a color you saw, write it down. Keep doing this and your recall will improve greatly.

alright, thanks. i definitely have been desiring LDs and telling myself before i fall asleep "i will remember!" but i can never fall asleep while telling myself that, it occupies my mind.
i shall try to recall anything, even colors, thanks for the reply.

      alright i shall read.

okay for the middle of the night thing, it happened to me yesterday. my brother woke up for the bathroom and slammed his door. but how would the words help if i couldnt remember dreaming at all before he woke me up? just random words?
the dream signs concept is cool, but i wont be able to use it til i have more dreams, shoot.
that really helps, the moving body part, really explains it well.
i drank two cups of orange juice before bed last night, no success, shoot.
owl city is my way to relieve stress. alright thanks mancon and zebrah

Apple juice or a small piece of dark chocolate has helped with my dream recall. You should give it a shot. It wont hurt anything.

Also make sure to drink a good amount of water before you go to bed. You will wake up in the middle of the night (right after a dream) and you will have a better chance of remembering dreams.

After a while you will start waking up in the middle of the night on your own (then you will get too good at it and wake up too often when you just want to get a full nights sleep)

Ya, i sleep with my DJ in my bed, it is really hard to force myself to write in it in the middle of the night, so that's why the having to use the bathroom trick is so good. If you have to get up anyways why not write it down.

I probably don't remember half my dreams just because of how lazy I am.

For the whole "can't fall back to sleep" thing start practicing your WILDs. If it is ganna take you forever to fall back to sleep anyways, why not?

I strongly suggest you start a dream journal. Before i started one, i had zero dream recall. Once i planned on starting one, i already remembered one dream. Sure it wasn't super clear, but it's a start. After that, i remembered at least one every night except for night 2. Just last night i remembered 3 dreams. I don't suggest milk chocolate right before bed though because i think it gave me a nightmare. Not too scary, but still. The positive tihng about nightmares for me is that i remember it immediately. I guess that is how i remembered 3 dreams.

You have to lay down and do nothing while you try to remember your dreams and then write the basic info, even on your hand, as soon as possible. To start off, just try to remember one dream a night. If you wake up with four dreams in your mind, focus on writing one to start with and add the others if u can still remember them after, and eventually you'll be able to write every dream down when your recall improves.
