Smoking messes with your dream recall and generally takes all dreams away if you smoke before bed. I've had bad night terrors forever and I'm just now finding out that all of the symptoms point to me being in SP. I had hallucinations of dead bodies and spiders running all over me, now that I'm reading about lucid dreams I know there's nothing to be scared of |
|
Definitely makes recall more difficult for me. Marijuana messes with memory and you need extremely sharp memory to remember dreams so while I've had really vivid dreams, it's often difficult to remember a lot of them for me. |

I don't smoke or drink at all, and my dream recall has definitely improved. When I was drinking and smoking heavily, I didn't remember any of the dreams I had--especially if I went to bed drunk or high. |

Smoking before bed makes me more likely to remember my dreams, because of the nature of the dreams I have. I enjoy them more and think about them more. |

Heavy smoker, awesome recall, and I always smoke before bed |

Personally I think it depends on the person. I've smoked since I was 8. I didn't ever remember my dreams before or after I started smoking. Around 15 I started remembering my dreams on a regular basis. I remember literally 3 dreams prior to turning 15. I also quit smoking pot and cigarettes 3 times before I turned 15. For 3 months and 6 months twice and it didn't improve my dream recall. I smoke on a regular basis and just in the last 6 months have had my first lucid dream and have had a few since then. For me starting a dream journal helped. After documenting every dream I could remember and now every time I wake up. |
