How long from fragments to "real dreams?"

Hello I've had a long break from lucid dreaming and now I've started again. Back then I got really long dreams and they played like I was watching them in real time if you know what I mean.

Now everytime I wake up I need to lie still and dig deep to find some memory fragments of a dream so basicly my dreams are only memories right now.

How long do you estimate that it will take to get back my normal recall?

Well, since you have experience from the past it shouldn't take as long as to a person who has just started from nothing, but still I'd estimate a few months.

About this, I do understand what you mean but this never happened to me. I suppose you had really good recall back then for that to happen, so maybe it won't take that long. Probably just the time for your mind to get used to remembering dreams again.

Of course it also depends a lot on the effort you put into it and the methods you use, I think getting it back in less than a month should be totally possible. Dig out your old DJ, or if you don't have one I'd recommend you to start one. Appart from that you might take a look at the compendium I recently wrote, there are lots of methods and tricks for recall in there.
Personal Records so far: Max lucids per day: 2 | Max lucids per week: 4 | Max lucids per month: 8 | Max dreams recalled in one night: 17
      Longest lucid dream: ~35min | Highest flight: zoomed out of common existence [WTF?] | Fastest speed: FTL | DILD/EILD/DEILD [X] | WILD/VILD [X] | MILD/FILD/HILD [ ]

Like mentioned, it really depends on the effort and practice of both recalling each dream and how detailed your journal entries become.
For me... it took me only about four days to be able to recall again with the detailed playback ability. After taking a break I felt off track and struggled a bit, but with time and practice, once I got back into the habit of remembering my dreams again...it's now easier to remember and play over like movies, again.
