Try a different method of lucid dreaming. Try my method, I stay visually aware all day and when I go to sleep, I stay aware of the visuals behind my eye lids.

When waking up and recalling, try staying in the bed and doing least movements possible, check out this tutorial as well: Dream Recall Tutorial - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views .
For how long you have no recall though? If it's not for long then don't worry much, recall is pretty random thing and is affected by so many things, we all have periods of no recall sometimes.

DREAM JOURNALS! They help immensely and are probably the most useful way to bump up recall quick. When i don't use DJs i recall about 1 dream a night. When i use them, that number goes up to 4-6. Like the person above stated as well, the second you wake up, do not move nor open your eyes. Simply keep your eyes closed and try to remember anything you possibly can about the dreams you had. Also, When falling asleep repeat the mantra "I remember my dreams" consistently until you fall asleep....or until you think the message sunk in :p

I would recommend checking this out. Recall is easiest if you wake up from a REM cycle, so changing your schedule around a little can help, but sleeping 8 hours is really the best way to start though. I would recommend always getting 8 hours for health reasons and for LDing.
