Post Looking at a drawing to recall.

      *edit
Could I potentially draw a square, ask myself if I dream it's a circle and use this as a reality check?

Or could I draw something directional and believe that it's going in the opposite direction?

      Any feedback appreciated

Hrm, I'm sorry, but I'm not sure I understand. How exactly would this help with recalling your dream? Could you explain in more detail?

Or, did you mean to use it as a reality check? Like looking at text, or pretty much anything, and trying to change it into something? If this is what you meant, then yes, that could work. Happy dreams

hmm, thank you I do mean as a reality check. I'll edit that. I find that the main reality checks like looking at a clock or my surroundings have been a little difficult for me to keep up with and I'm trying to think of other ways to get around looking for cues. Because currently I've found it very difficult to become lucid on purpose.

There is lots of RCs here, and some of them you can even modify to make them your own, so they are fun and easier to remember to do. http://www.dreamviews.com/induction-...hecks-rcs.html

But as you will read in the article, more important than which RC yo do, or how often, is your state of mind at that moment. You really have to believe that RC will work, because you could be in a dream at that very moment. happy dreams and please ask anything else.

Thank you, I'll check it out. Out of curiousity how often did you reality check when you first started?

On first day, I RCd maybe every 15 min for one evening. And I got my first lucid that night. But I was SUPER excited about my discovery of lucid dreaming just day before. So really, the excitement, the wow, this really could be a dream thought, the expectation of something incredible is lot more important than number or frequency of RCs.

Now, i have to admit, that I don't RC often at all. Somehow I forget. But i do everytime I remember, which is maybe 1-2 a day, sometimes more often.

Okay thanks, I'm pretty motivated, just had a lucid dream at random a couple nights ago with more control than ever so I came back on here. I'll start every fifteen minutes or so and see how far I get from there.

Sure, make them as often as you feel like it. Just don't let them become a mindless rutine, a chore, that you just have to do. Use emotions. If you can recall a feeling you got from your first lucid, and recall it every time you RC and do the reality check and mantra, that's even better. http://www.dreamviews.com/dild/13212...ods-dilds.html

I don't know how many times I RC... The actual movement... Prolly 50 times a day. The mental check probably a few hundred. Everything that I am thinking about goes back to a few basics. All new info goes through LDing. Every movie gets compared to lucidity. Every song is visualized as how it pertains to lucidity. Now this may seem like a crazy obsession, but it is the most fun way to raise state awareness, plus this is actually my #7 obsession of thoughts.
How can this apply to me and God
How can this apply to my wife and God
How can this apply to me as a husband
How can this apply to me as a father
How can this apply to me as a friend
How can this apply to me as a future pastor
How can this apply to my dreams

These all happen very simultaneously and I often mix them up and am just getting this in writing. Writing down should help me to apply better. Haha. Hoping to work on getting this idea across with less words and more meaning.

Sorry for rambling. I should put this in my own thread. :3 awareness is something that you want to get into your head, not something you do a few times a day. I go through the motions aprox 50 times just to keep it cemented in. Your mind connecting something that you are seeing, thinking, and remembering will do better than just randomly thinking abut dreams or just going through he hand motions of an RC.

      Edit:
Spoiler for more on God... :P:

Looks like Gab & Brandon answered your question, but I just wanted to say that that is an excellent idea for a RC, and perhaps simultaneously a mandala on which you can focus (in your head, of course) as you go to sleep.

Thanks, thought I could use that instead of the more common reality checks. And yah, they seem to have answered it pretty well haha. :p
