      Dream Journal question

I know this question is probably obvious, but I just want to make sure. Does anybody know if it makes any difference if you record your dreams on paper or on the computer? I've been writing them on paper, but it's been hard to write down the long ones fast enough before I forget a majority of the details. I think it might just be an opinion, but again, I'm just making sure.

I guess it depends on the person, but personally I never write them down on paper. I sleep with my Kindle Fire nearby, and when I wake up and remember a dream, I make note of it on a diary app I have. In the morning, I transfer my notes onto my computer. I have a document where I record all my dreams. To me, it doesn't seem to make a difference. My dream recall improves a lot during times when I record my dreams. And when I don't write them down at all, I tend not to remember them much. So, I don't know ... for me, writing it down on a screen of some sort doesn't seem to be worse than writing it on paper.

I write notes on a paper then I write them down on this forum, but then I copy that into the Dream Journal App made by Banhurt on this forum. It gives you ranks and statistics of your dreams which is very motivating. You should check it out My current rank is "Dream Character" ^-^

I think it would depend on each person's preferences. I personally use a written dream journal for when I need to write in between dream cycles. But then again, I only use keywords so I don't have to write a lot and end up waking up for real. I then type them up onto a digital app where I can expound and add the details.

If you're very particular with remembering all the details once you wake up, you can try using a voice recorder, then transcribing it later. Warning though: you may be shocked by the half-sleepy version of yourself! Haha

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

What helps you with dream recall is the actual act of thinking about your dreams.

So it really makes no difference, how you write them down. It really is up to you. Paper or computer is the same in my opinion.

But voice recorder should be used only to record some keywords at night if you don't want to write them when you wake up from a dream and info from the recorder should be transfered to paper or to PC in the morning. Just because, it's easier to look through your dreams and find patterns, dream signs and such, than to listen to them.

Depends on the person :p for me, it really doesn't make a difference except writing it down takes longer than typing it. For some people, the bright light from the computer during the night causes them to forget their dream(s).
