      How do you improve your memory

      How do you improve your memory in your dreams? I have goals before sleeping to do in a lucid but i keep forgetting.

      Stabilize the dream until you can remember things from the waking reality.

      I've tried to burn into my mind a small list of goals I want to accomplish in my lucid dreams. Helped me once so far.

      Having some goals to reach in lucid dreams really helps. It seems to help inducing lucid dreaming aswell. One time when I still believed in spirit guides, I wanted to meet mine. Before I went to bed, I tried to focus myself on my intention and feel it with all my heart. That night I had a dream where I was in my room. I was thinking that it could be a dream for some reason. But when I looked at my hands as I usually did to perform a reality check, I didn't notice anything strange. Everything was so realistic. Too realistic to be a dream, I believed. But then my hands started to turn blue and that was my sign. I knew it was a dream. And immediately I remembered my intention of meeting my spirit guide. But I was an inexperienced lucid dreamer, so I woke up very quickly, even before being able to meet my spirit guide. But still, it shows how easy it is to remember your goals in a lucid dream.

      Just like when I just wanted to find a door in my lucid dream and see what would be behind it. I was intending to do this while I was awake before I even tried it. When I was finally lucid inside a dream, again I immediately realized this and wanted to find a door. But I still sucked at prolonging my lucid dreams, so I woke up before I was able to do this. I also remembered to stabilize my dream, but this didn't work for me. Too much insecurity. Not enough faith.

      I can remember having read somewhere that from all kinds of memories your prospective memory (the memory that contains your intentions) is the most active during dreaming. That explains why people seem to so easily remember their goals in their lucid dreams, yet have trouble remembering other kinds of memories, like your own phone number.
