Well, I thought I'd hitch on the bandwagon and show some pictures of myself, since everyone is having so much fun. I can't find my digital camera, but these are technically recent.

Briefly, a picture that was taken when I was with two of my friends:

My brother-in-law's wedding was this past Saturday 6/24. My hubby, James, was the Best Man, and I was a bridesmaid.

Vacation pics.



This is the old schoolhouse in Torrey, Utah. My dad was born there, and my grandpa lived there all his life. My grandpa cut the stone and did almost all of the masonry in this schoolhouse, which is pretty awesome. Especially because he did it all virtually for free, since Torrey was in the nation's poorest county (In fact, only in the last few years did it finally loose the title "America's Poorest County").



These are the heiroglyphs. I'm actually really pissed about that part. What brought Torrey off of the nation's poorest counties list was that a bunch of millionaires began retiring there, and they brought a lot of business...but also a lot of people with absolutely no respect for this sort of thing. About three quarters of the heiroglyphs have been ruined in the last three years. They were in great shape when I visited as a kid, but now it's hard to take a picture of them that doesn't include the vandalism...



Yeah. Vandalism. Like I hiked five miles in 100+ degree weather to look at freakin' NARUTO scrawled sloppily over 600 year old ruins. Honestly.

Even worse was the gunshots...People actually took guns and shot at the heiroglyphs for 'fun'. Yeah. Bullets into sandstone leave three to four inch wide holes. And other people scribble additions to the heiroglyphs...like tire tread marks over a deer or nooses around the throats of the men. Makes me SO freakin' pissed off.

Anyway...

This is one of the more famous overlooks. It's amazing in first person...the pictures don't even come close to capturing it.
