      Samael's WILD Workbook

Note: All dates are "morning of" unless otherwise specified.

      Intro Assignments:

      Analyze Sleep Schedules

07/25/10 - Slept soundly 0430 through 1000, woken up and required to engage in one-sided conversation. Remember only dream-fragments.

07/26/10 - Slept from 0430 to 0700, when woken up by noise. Slept until 1230. Failed DEILD, woke up intermittently throughout the morning. Recognized HH at one point. FA where I felt someone beside me but recognized it as a dream (semi-lucid). Overall, slept lightly but without well-remembered dreams.

07/27/10 - Slept 0230 to 0650, when woken up by noise. Stayed awake for ten minutes, woke up again at 1000, slept for another hour. Most vivid dreams occurred right before waking up at 0650.

08/02/10 - Unrecorded. Remembered one dream, far below average recall.

08/03/10 - Unrecorded. Almost no recall.

08/04/10 - Slept 0400 to 0700, when woken up by noise. Stayed awake for ten minutes. Dreams were hazy, but I remembered a fairly long sequence of them.

08/05/10 - Changing sleep cycle. Went to bed at 0030, but got up again. Finally went to sleep at 0400. Slept until 0600, and 0605 to 0900.

08/06/10 - After little sleep the previous night, quickly fell asleep at 0000. Woken up by noise at 0400, slept through alarm clock at 0600, got up at 0900.

08/07/10 - Slept 0300 to 1200. Definitely have a cold. Recall single dream fragment.

08/08/10 - Slept 2230 to 1030. Woke up at approximately 0545 and 0830, both times naturally or from ambient noise. Might have woken up a couple more times, but didn't record them. Recall several dreams, with lucidity. Finally. Almost successful WILD attempt at 0545.

Tentative Conclusion: I'll wake up naturally after about six hours of sleep, which seems to be a good time to attempt a WILD. Will continue to track sleep patterns, as the last couple of weeks I've had an erratic sleep schedule, and kind of been sick.

      Phase 4: Transition:

Describe previous experiences with SP & HH.

I've experienced brief moments of HH, but not yet to the point where I've transitioned into a dream. I haven't experienced SP consciously at all. I've had moments where I thought I was in SP, but I've still been able to twitch my fingers, and occasionally reality check (nose plug RC).

I pick up a half-eaten copy of a book by Neil Gaiman, and decide this is all his fault.
