The only thing I'm able to is to reduce the ammount and then ignore the rest.
It's not clearing your mind of all thoughts, but it isn't ignoring them all either. Essentially, void meditation is similar to when you are falling asleep, and when you are in non-REM sleep. After 'sorting' through all the thoughts that you would normally sort through while you are going to sleep, less and less thoughts will surface in your mind. I'm not sure if it's because no thoughts are entering your mind any more, or because your mind is subconsciously ignoring them or something.
