Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad

I figure since BF3 has a thread, this game ought to have a thread, too. In the time it takes Activision and EA to make 5 clones, Tripwire makes one masterpiece. While other game companies aim to throw in as many flashy graphics as possible to hype people up, RO focuses on realistic gameplay and tactic-friendly map design. If you want sweet graphics in an intense single-player campaign full of cinematic cuts, then don't bother. But if you want a game that's actually fun to play online and has some replay value, this is the one.

      Spoiler for screenshot:

Why isn't the gun centered on the screen? You can move your barrel around the center of the screen while panning the same direction

Everything works out in the end, sometimes even badly.

God I love WWII shooters. Thanks for the tip!
Also that tank seems pretty light on the inside, doesn't it?

Yeah if you look at videos the interiors all have this pale cream color, I don't know if that's how Russian tanks were on the inside or if their skin is incomplete but these guys tend to try to stay as close to reality as possible so I'd wager its one of the two.

I just like how it does everything right that Black Ops and Battlefield keep fucking up. For instance it gives realistic spray effect so if you're sniping and your hill gets pelted by a barrage of machine gun rounds you won't be able to focus on the target. Basically all the controls seems simplified and more intuitive than other FPS games even though there's more technical shit to do such as squad commanding and machine gun deployment.

I aint getting BF3, screw that! EQ shoulda stayed with steam, and some of the retarded things they are making up like if you get banned from 1 game all your games you BOUGHT with your own MONEY are nolonger playable. I'll never support that kind of stupidity. But i'll be trying out this game, although i never did play the first one.

The first one is just a more primitive version of this one.

And I wish I could own a company like Steam. I like the idea of buying a game and owning it for good. I just wish they had someone who wasn't a complete asshole making the rules.
