A basic overview of Lucid Dreaming (as presented by a Marine Master Sergeant)

I am Dream Sergeant Hartman, your senior drill instructor. From now on you will speak only when spoken to, and the first and last words out of your filthy sewers will be "Sir". Do you maggots understand that?

If you ladies leave my website, if you survive recruit training, you will be Dream Marines! But until that day you are lurkers. You are nothing but unorganized grabastic pieces of amphibian shit. Because I am hard, you will not like me. But the more you hate me, the more you will learn. I am hard but I am fair.

There is no bigotry here. I do not look down on wrinkled pensioners, spotty teenagers or overweight middle-aged men and women. Here you are all equally worthless. And my orders are to weed out all hackers who do not pack the gear to serve in my beloved Corps. Do you maggots understand that?

The deadliest weapon in the dream world is a Dream Marine and his Dream Journal. It is your killer instinct which must be harnessed if you expect to survive long nights with constantly interrupted sleep. Your Journal is only a tool. It is a hard heart that kills non-lucid sleep. If your killer instincts are not clean and strong you will hesitate at the moment of lucidity. You will not stabilize your dream. You will become unaware Dream Marines and then you will be in a world of shit because Dream Marines are not allowed to be unaware without permission. Do you maggots understand?

Today... is Christmas! There will be a magic show at zero-nine-thirty! One of our DV Executives will tell you about how you will conquer non-lucidity with the aid of the great god Morpheus, some dream signs and a few mantras! Morpheus has a hard-on for Dream Marines because we act on every dream sign we see! He plays His games, we play ours! Morpheus was here before the Marine Corps! So you can give your brain to him, but your ass belongs to the Dream Corps! Do you ladies understand?

Tonight, you pukes will sleep with your journals…you're married to this piece…this journal of board and paper…and you will be faithful. Repeat after me!

This is my journal. There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My journal is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my journal is useless. Without my journal, I am useless. I must fill my journal true. I must overcome my enemy, who is trying to confuse me. I will. Before Morpheus I swear this creed: my journal and myself are defenders of our dream lands, we are the masters of our enemy, we are the saviors of our dreams. So be it, until there is no enemy, but chained-lucidity. Amen

Marines! Outstanding! Those individuals who are lucid show what motivated Dream Marines and their journals can do! And before you ladies leave my island, you will be able to do the same

      Port, hut! Sound off!

When I sleep please let me keep (repeat after me)
My Dream Journal by my feet (repeat after me)
And by my side my dream signs list (repeat after me)
So no dream signs will be missed (repeat after me)
