      Moment of Truth

Christ, it's like Jerry Springer meets the Millionaire Show.

I think there's already a thread about this. Somewhere. In any case, I love that show.

That show is a real commentator on what entertains our society. Frankly, it should be canned.

Yeah, not to mention it seems either way too scripted or inherently flawed (the fact that the show is less about telling the truth and more about trying to get the fucking lie detector to work. I mean, it's not about people being honest, it's about the machine deciding whether or not they are.)

you really shouldnt say christ like that, it doesnt consider other people, unless you are actually adressing christ with what you say.

I agree the show is like Jerry Springer. It's so obviously fake and trashy!

Well what he is saying is "Christ, can you please explain why you allow such evil shows to influence the mind of your flock?"

Anyway, I've seen part of that show but I wasn't as interested as I thought I would be. Probably because it has all the trappings of the modern reality show - overly dramatic, scripted, and taking itself waaaaaaay too seriously.

      Agreed.

Shows like this (with the lie detector), and Deal or No Deal just go to show that your average dumb slob person doesn't understand conditional probability.

I like it because it's educational, as well as entertaining.

Above all else, it shows what people are willing to do to the people they love (most telling-ly, the things that they actually admit to doing) as well as how far they are willing to go (airing all of their dirty laundry out on national T.V., not caring who they throw under the bus) for money.

      Blows my mind.

The lie detector doesn't even really factor into why I find it entertaining.

Yeah, I agree. I actually kind of liked it. I only saw one episode though. It was the one with the girl who cheated on her boyfriend and a bunch of other stuff and then didn't even get any money.

I have never watched it. To be honest i didn't think it looked all that interesting, just another one of those stupid "gameshows" or whatever it's considered to be. But after reading this thread i will at least look into it.
