Let's hide together, Burns. With your ability to communicate with animals and my ninja skills, they'll never find us.

Ugh, that day can't come faster?

And don't worry Burns, I'm <mostly> sure that you won't have an emotional breakdown from reading it.

Okay, #1 and 9 from that list are hilarious but I think Harry being a horcrux sounds pretty logical in that it gets rid of both Harry and Voldemort and it's a truly ingenious plot-twist.

Well, except for the whole somebody already guessing it that is.

hahahaha That's hilarious, Tsen!
I was a little apprehensive about reading it, but you've never lead me wrong before.

Edit: Not that harry potter sucks that much, it is just that after the first few books it has lost itself. Is it a childrens book, or not as much? If you hold part 1 and part 6 next to each other, I see way to little resemblance. Imagen tolkien writing part 1 way different then part 3. Kind of like the hobbit: that story does fit story-wise, but not writing-wise.

Blah.

Well, they were SUPPOSED to start child-like and innocent and move from there. I mean, Harry's growing up throughout the whole thing. I think the problem is a lot of people are trying to judge it as something it isn't.

A) frodo isn't a fag like harry in the first few parts. And frodo might be smaller.

B) It isn't JUST harry that changes, I could accept that. It is the very story itself. No-one died in the first few parts, nothing Really bad even happened in the first few parts. Not like if you grow up the World becomes more mean...

I aslo wondered if Harry wasn't one Voldemort's Horcruxes. We all know where that will lead.

It's easy to read Harry's possible death into Rowling's comments. However, she could be referring to the end of the artistic process for the series. It's her "baby" and has lived through its life cycle. I'm still optimistic enough to think there'll be a "happy ending" with Harry and Hermione getting together and carrying on the next generation of magical folk. Sigh...where is my modern inner cynic?

As for the books differing so much in vibe and darkness...it makes sense because the books are told from Harry's perspective. As he grows and matures, so do the books. I don't know if that was Rowling's intention, but it works.

The Hobbit has a much more childlike vibe to me than The Lord of the Rings and the Silmarillion. The Lord of the Rings is epic/heroic and the Silmarillion is mythic/dreamlike/somber.

Nah Harry ain't going to die, thats way too obvious. I reckon Hagrid will die though, thats sort of predictable but isn't as obvious.

Uh, no offense, but have you been living under a rock? It's totally Ron and Hermione, and Harry and Ginny.
Even J.K.R. has confirmed this. Harry/Hermione shippers are in denial.

I live on the River Denial, Burns! Do you trust everything that JKR says?

Harry and Ginny, yes, I admit that I can see that. But just imagine, Ron and Hermione...OMG what misery. How can JKR do that to them? Hermione has no respect for him...unless something changes that

Apparently Rowling's chief editor or something came to speak at our school last year and said that nothing's been completely set in stone yet.

J.K.R. has said that she has dropped quote "anvil-sized hints" unquote that Ron and Hermione will end up together. And it just makes total sense. I'll see if I can find the link on her site.

Harry reminds me of one of my friends.

If it were realistic...he would die...or at least end up alone. After living/being through everything that he has...I don't think he could ever be with someone. Not really. Who could ever understand what he's been through...and who could ever relate to Harry. But that's just me being cynical...or realistic...

But I really...really...really...hope it has a happy ending. And I sort of think it will. At least a bittersweet one.

Do you see someone dieing in the atmosphere of harry potter 1? I don't. I do see it happening a lot in the later parts. If I am 11 or 21, people kill just as much other people, that doesn't depend on my age.

Here's a quote from an excerpt from an interview with J.K. Rowling regarding Ron/Hermione.

And for background info, Emerson is the founder of Mugglenet.com and Melissa is the founder of The Leaky Cauldron.org.

From Emerson and Melissa's interview with JK Rowling on July 17th, 2005:

ES: Harry/Hermione shippers - delusional!

JKR: Well no, I'm not going to - Emerson, I am not going to say they're delusional! They are still valued members of my readership! I am not going to use the word delusional. I am, however, going to say — now I am trusting both of you to do the spoiler thing when you write this up. I will say, that yes, I personally feel - well it's going to be clear once people have read Book 6. I mean, that’s it. It’s done, isn’t it? We know. Yes, we do now know that it's Ron and Hermione. I do feel that I have dropped heavy hints.[/b]

I have many theories about what will happen in the last book. Anyone want to hear them? Just PM/email me if you want to know.

My theories:

One: SNAPE IS A GOOD GUY. You may not agree, but he is a good guy, I mean... consider Dumbledore's last moments. He said, "Severus, please..."
Being pathetic and asking for mercy isn't like Dumbledore, I think that he ws pleading with Snape to kill him, in order for Snape to keep his position
as a Death Eater.

Two: I agree here, something is possible between Ron and Hermione.

Three: From what I have read in the paper I know for a FACT that 2 people die in the story. my theory includes all possiblities of who dies.
I think for starters that Voldemort will most likely die and anyone other character will die too. If so it is likely to be Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny or Snape. If Voldemort doesn't die, then I think that Harry will also not die, in which case the most likely outcome will be Snape + one other character dying. However I don't think that Harry will die and Voldemort live, this is a children's book after all.

These are my theories about what happens.
If you have to quote me on anything, quote me as saying,

"It is impossible to make anything foolproof as fools are so ingenious..."

The problem I have with Snape being a good guy is that, frankly, he'd be the best actor on the planet to pull that one off. However he does genuinely manage to find a hate for Harry through his (asshole) father James and so on so I guess it wouldn't be that hard. And he doesn't have to like Harry at all to protect him, I suppose. But it still seems like an improbable character make up, you know, someone who is so concerned about Voldemort that they just sacrifice their entire life to it and yet somehow never once lose their cool, from making the Promise to seeing Harry every day in lessons to killing Dumbledore.

There's something funny going on with that "I am the half blood prince" jazz, though. If that never gets resolved, I will just have to presume Snape was to some degree deluded. Or maybe he's a robot. A magic-powered robot.

So I know all of us pretty much think Harry is a goner and just don't want it to be true. This is very possible, considering what Rawling has said. But I just read this:

"Asked which five of her characters she would like to invite to dinner, she chose Harry, Hermione and Ron, but then hesitated before choosing her last characters, saying "See... I know who's actually dead", unsure whether she was permitted to invite those who are 'dead'. "

That seems to indicate that Harry isn't "dead." Maybe there's hope! Who knows, though, could be a bunch of bull. This quote is on the wiki entry for HP and the Deathly Hallows.
