The first was still the best, IMHO. I've read each with my son as they have been released. There was a certain wonder in that first book that just hasn't been touched since. That was the genius of it... it certainly wasn't a tightly knit plot or anything like that - it was the introduction of the characters in such a powerfully personal way. |

I'm not reading them anymore. I mean killing Dumbledore, come on! That woman has lost it. She kills Dumbledore AND Sirrius Black. It'll be Harry, Ron and Hermione next. Mark my words, she'll keep on killing until there are no characters left. Then she'll make new ones. Then she'll kill them. It's too depressing. I just read Fight Club and that's a happy feel good book by comparrison. |

Adopted Megabenman although he disappeared a while ago.
HAY GUYS, GUESS WHAT? |

Never read any of the books, and I've only seen pieces of maybe two of the movies. |

Yeah, she was looking for a Horcrux as Harry, and the narrator knew it was hidden in a fireplace, but Harry didn't so she was pretending that she (as Harry) didn't know where it was, looking everywhere but the place it was while simultaneously trying to get people to say the lines she knew they were supposed to. |

Haha - but her very first dream in the Harry Potter world?? God, I can't even count how many HP dreams I've had. |
|
Ron and Hermione had better get together. It's about freakin' time. |

Yeah seriously! Well, he'd have to go back to the Dursley's until his birthday, because he's got exactly 17 years protection from Voldemort. After that, who knows? The Burrow? Come on, what about Quidditch?? |

Isn't it obvious that Cho Chang is actually the evil mastermind (i.e. Voldemort) behind all of this in disguise? |

Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! |

It's funny you should mention that. |

I'll be reading it, though yeah, HBP was quite a dissapointment. Reminded me of shitty, shitty fan fiction more than anything else, especially with the pairings. |

my feeling is the only reason it would have been better in 4-5 books is that its just so damn hard to make something feel fresh, new, and creative for so many pages. ive read 1-5 at least twice each and 6 once, and im planning on reading them all again just before i read the seventh for the first time. i find that, in doing that, the excitement carries over to each book and the action is seamless, so maybe it made the 6th book a lot more enjoyable for me than other people have commented (i did the same thing as books 4 and 5 came out). if anyone else did that too and was still disappointed by the 6th, then who knows. in fact, i find the first book oddly boring now, probably partly because i've read it so many times, but also probably because the "threat" or main danger in the first one seems dry and straightforward now, almost like a "kids" version of what's to come. not knocking the first book at all, i cherish it, just find it a harder read nowadays. and in an odd, gut-wrenching, terrible way i'm glad dumbledore died...now we'll see what everyone, including harry and draco, is really made of. no dumbledore to swoop in and save the day. the cards are dealt, chips are down, and shit's gonna hit the fan, i wouldnt miss the last book for the world. |

Uuuh Dickhead, if you didn't know that yet, you don't go on the internet often, do you? |

I read in an article in a national paper the other day that Rowling said she was killing off two main characters in this book. My bet is it's Harry and Voldemort. |
|
Imagine how horrible it'd be if J.K. Rowling would die before the seventh book was completed. THE HARRY POTTER SAGA WOULD NEVER BE FINISHED! |
|
I'm still mad at her for killing off Sirius AND Dumbledore. If she kills Harry though...I think there will be an all out revolution on the woman...I don't think she could get away with that. Voldemort...yeah. Snape? To be honest...even after everything that's happened I'm still not certain what side he's REALLY on. There's alot that needs to be answered in this last book! It had better deliver! |
|
I didn't read the last one, how did Dumbledore die? |

I do this too - with each new book that comes out, I read all of them again beforehand, leading up to it, and timed out precisely so I can pick up with the newest book. |
