Snakes... Why'd it have to be snakes?!

It was pointed out in another thread that we had no topic for the new Indiana Jones movie, so here it is. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull comes out May 22, and you can find the newly released trailer at www.indianajones.com if you haven't seen it yet.

Is anybody else as incredibly pumped about this movie as I am? It looks amazing, and I've been waiting for it for... Well, years. So, let's see a show of hands, who's going to the premiere? And of those that are, who's wearing appropriate period dress?

I will definitely be there. I'm a big Indy fan, and this one already looks promising.

I doubt I will be in full Indy garb, but I'm actually pretty good with bull whip (well, "used to be" - It's been years since I've touched one), so if I can score one before the premiere, I'll take it with me.

I've got one, and I'm pretty good with it as well, but I probably won't take mine because it's an El Cheapo. I can't afford a really good one, as much as I want one.

But I'll definitely have the fedora and jacket, as well as the bag. Provided I can get 'em together in time.

You guys have whip experience? I've always wanted to learn how to really use one. So far I only have a riding crop ... for... um... non pervy uses of course.

I think I'm even more excited to see this movie than to see The Dark Knight.

I've been waiting for years for them to finally get around to making this. And now it's here, and about a week before my birthday. Awesome timing.

Seeing that trailer and hearing that theme made me feel like a giddy little kid again.

I don't think so he's too old for the role.

He looks fine to me, based on what little I've seen from the trailer. When he's sporting a walker and/or oxygen tank, then he might be too old for the action scenes, never too old to play Indy though.

Even characters must age. Hmm, speaking of aging, I wonder what ever became of Short Round?

Nope. Jackie Chan is almost 10 years older, and he's still kicking people's asses all over the screen.

Oh, wait. I got the two mixed up. Ford is about ten years over Jackie Chan.
(maybe I was thinking of David Carradine )

      Shut up, Spart. Lol.

Anyways, Connery, who played Indy`s father in the last movie, is still alive and kicking...

Short Round is like the R2-D2 of Indiana Jones. "No time for love, Dr. Jones!" The tone of that sounds just like Artoo whistling a scolding at Luke or Threepio.

Not when he's playing a correspondingly older IJ.

Midnight showing tonight! Who's going to be there?

Unfortunately, I won't be in full garb, I found myself in a shortage of money. But I've got my tickets, and I leave in 30 minutes.

I don't like at all so I am assuming the movie will suck for me if I watched it.

Thus I don't plan on watching it =S

      Shia Labouef isn't that bad.

Except for the fact that EVERYTIME he screams (disturbia, transformers, etc etc), I laugh INCREDIBLY hard.

I went to see Disturbia with my friends, they shit their pants, I LOLED

I'm going to answer before MoS It was good! It was missing a subtle flavor that was present in the original three, but more or less they kept to the same formula. I liked how they also paid tribute to Sean Connery and Indy's other cooky sidekick (aka "Follow me, I know the way!"), so even if they weren't in the movie they were still mentioned.

As far as Shia's role, it wasn't overpowering and wasn't all about him. He did still have a bit of a "I have no clue what's going on" mentality, but I felt that he fit in with the flow of the whole movie.

      "Grab the rope!"

"If there was one thing the lucid dreaming ninja writer could not stand, it was used car salesmen."

I just got back from seeing Indy 4.

I have never felt so violated in my life. I keep replaying the movie in my head over and over like I'm a victim of a traumatic assault on my mind. Holy crap I can't even express into words how bad this film is.

      - The movie is ridiculously over the top. When Indy punches someone you can almost 'see' the BAMM! BIFF! WHAM! appearing onscreen like it was some Batman cartoon.
      - Harrison Ford's delivery of dialogue in a dozen or so scenes was pitiful. I feel so bad for him right now. If this is the last movie he ever makes he's going out on a lower note than Firewall.
      - Predictable. Ever so predictable. And not even in a "the good guys always win, duh" kind of predictable. The plot is so shallow your ankles wouldn't even get wet.
      - The plot itself is fucking terrible. Ugh, I have no words.

As far as I'm concerned, there are only 3 Indiana Jones films. This was even worse than Revenge of the Sith, and I didn't think that was even possible until tonight.

I implore you to NOT see this film, but if you really really really have to, get Chinese food before going so you have something sharp to stick in your eyes when you can't take it anymore. Holy crap I need to lie down. Nerd rage is boiling over.
