Thread: The Matrix

It's actually quite surprising how much you miss when you just watch the movie to watch it, but when you are looking for it, the answers are all there. I think only 1/3 people actually tried to follow the Architects speech, and 1/3 of those actually infrenced from it. So yeah, the sequel movies contain a hell of a lot of expansion on the story if you are looking for it.

And if there ever was a movie that related to lucid dreaming, this would be it.

I liked the first one because it had story philospophy action but not to much.
But the other 2
The first one is more about the philosophy then the fighting but the other 2 are just stupid fights for 2 hours. I also like the first one because of the relation to lucid dreaming.

To sum it up:

The first one is definitely the best.

The only good part about the second one is the freeway sequence.

The third one sucked.

i love them all, but first was definitely the best - my fav. movie.

btw, whats with the reviving of an old matrix thread?

I so wish i had managed to watch the first 10 minutes of the matrix without wandering off bored.. im sure i must be missing something.

The first was a very good movie. Very deep on many levels. I heard it was written by someone else, which would explain why the other 2 were so lacking in that area.

I always thought the oracle was a pretty cool character. How she didn't nesecarily say what was true, but what a person needed to believe to bring the necesary events about. Like when she told Neo he wasn't the one, thus causing him to place Morpheus' life above his own, causing him to decide to save Morpheus not realizing that he would survive.. he might not have had he knew he was the one.

The first one was best but I loved the battle in the 3rd one

I just looked this up. That would explain why the next two movies were lower in quality.

First movie explains what the matrix is. Getting plugged into it is symbolic of turning on the chakras. Second introduces the Merovingians as well as some other esoteric knowledge. Revolutions is about Neo having his light body up and running (whenever he was blinded, that was when it was activated).
When his light body was fully activated, he started seeing everything as energy. That is also the reason why he destroyed those Sentinels in the real world.
All three movies have much to tell if one is willing to listen.
