Heh. I was tormented by Freddy every other night, a few months ago. He finally caught me while I was lucid, and I created nails that came out of my fingertips and fought him hand-to-hand. He ended up giving up, and said that he respected me for being such an awesome dream fighter, and that he would help me out, in future dreams, if I called on him. Haha.

I haven't taken him up on it yet, but I thought that was pretty badass.

I know it's been said, but I definitely back the support for the Nightmare on Elm Street series. Have you seem them all yet, Kichu? The earliest ones (maybe 1-4, 5 at the most) are the best, but the entire series is good stuff. It's got some of the most disturbing images ever (in the fantastic sense, not the quasi-realistic and over-the-top gore in movies like Hostel and The Hills Have Eyes.)

Fun fact: Nightmare on Elm Street 3 - Dream Warriors is probably the single most contributory movie that helped me develop dream control (before the Matrix, of course!) It's the first one where the characters actually started using dream control "powers" to kick Freddy's ass. Good shit.
Why...WHY would you post a pic of "him" in my thread?????
Yes I am a horror movie buff and enjoy being scared, but my fear of "him" is real and HE SHOULD NOT BE IN ANY THREAD I START!!!!

Minus 3 points for you O. You should have known.

I doubt Prom Night is anywhere near as good as Carrie.

Well, the climax to Carrie, at the very least - I love that scene.

You do not have to be afraid of Freddy ever again. Dokken played the theme song to A Nightmare on Elm Street 3. If you see Freddy in a dream again, just picture Dokken performing "Dream Warriors". Your fear will vanish.

Some great horror/suspense movies for you....

The Mist- It's based off a Stephen King classic short story, and is known to have one of the most horribly sad endings ever.

SAW- THE ORIGINAL. Saw 2 on is really just a gore fest, but I hang onto the films just because I enjoyed the first one so much. Don't let the other films bad reputations draw you away, the first SAW was more of a crime suspense film than a horror film. As the director said "Upon viewing the original cut, I turned to my producer and said "We've just made a PG-13 drama". They went back and shot close ups for an R rating.

Identity- One of my favorite movies of all time. Although the ending completely sucks, the ride to it is quite fun, and mysterious.

I thought prom night was about a teacher who fell in love with a student and killed people to get to her?

carrie is not like that at all, it's about a sheltered religious girl who has telekinetic powers and snaps.

LMFAO! That may be a bit counter-productive. Picturing Dokken might actually turn Freddy into Dokken...and, personally..I think I'd rather face Freddy, because just looking at Dokken makes me uneasy.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Pet Cemetary yet. That movie scared the hell outta me. Although last time I watched it I was 10, so maybe it's not as freaky as I remember.

I'd never heard of it until now, but I'm interested to see it, although I'm pretty sure it's not the type of movie I was looking for. But it's written and directed by David Lynch, and although I hated Mulholland Drive the first time I saw it, I got into the second time, especially when I realized what the hell was going on. So thanks for the recommendation! I'm very curious.

We actually have that here somewhere, not sure why we haven't we seen it yet. I think it has subtitles or something, and I wasn't in the mood for that. But thanks for the reminder.

I tried looking for it the other day and two video stores didn't have it! Definitely one of my faves as well.

Thanks for all the suggestions you guys, these are great. I didn't comment on the ones I had already seen (anything Stephen King, the Omen, etc).

For the record, everyone should watch The Descent. I watched it again last night, and it scared the crap out of me. As usual. Check it out:

That movie made me feel REALLY gross. I don't know why, maybe because I was so tense waiting for scary parts, but it actually made me feel really anxious at some point. It was bizarre. Like, I wanted to leave the theater.
