I actually just finished reading the books a couple of weeks ago. I thought they were awesome; one of the better series I've read in quite a while. I still have yet to see the movie, but I hear it's pretty good. |

Ugh, the movie blew ass and definitely did not do the Awesomeness that is Douglas Adams' genius justice. |
|
Yea the movie was rather crap. Funny as it was but totally beat hands down by the books. |
|
Hmmm...movie doesn't seem to be too great, eh Elis D? Oh well. I think after reading all five books, I kind of have to see the movie. Netflix to the rescue! |

Yeah, I also agree that the movie didn't get close to how good the book was. The movie was just weird. |

Yeh. |

Brilliant book.... really shit film! |
|
Oh I had heard aobut the miniseries but never saw it. I should try to sometime |

I read the complete Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, which had all five books in one. Fucking hilarious, I don't think a novel has every made me crack up like that one. Such an intelligent narrative, the jokes were ahead of their time. |

Look out on a summers day,
with eyes that know the darkness of my soul.
I find it extremely difficult to believe that there was no over arching plan or purpose to them having read them all, even though I know there wasn't. He managed to tie everything together so elegantly in the end that I feel he must have been channeling a parallel universe or something. |

I think I'll read this next week. If it is as good as everyone says, I'll probably finish it over the weekend. I enjoyed the movie, but like any movie based off a book, it has to be appreciated as its own entity. You really can't compare any book to its movie counterpart. |
