Xox, no there aren't any spoilers for Breaking Dawn. Yet!
I wonder about the covers for the books. They don't seem to correlate with any part of the story... maybe it's just an artistic thing. Like the apple on the first one, for example. Meh?
wrong they correlate you just have to think a bit.the apple represents the forbidden fruit which bella's blood is to edward(she is giving herself to him).the falling rose represents love torn and replenished.the falling ribbon represents events becoming undone and things being revealed.i have yet to know what the chess pieces mean since i have yet to read the fourth book.

"you fuzzy little man peach!"-Old Greg a.k.a. scaly little man fish
ray - They don't necessarily have to mean a certain thing. As I said, Steph doesn't know what they mean herself, except for Twilight. And that apple actually represents Edward. It's open to interpretation though, so you can consider it whatever you want.
I also think Kristen is beautiful. She looks fragile to me, which is very important.
The two main characters are Mr. and Mrs. Stu and the plot (or lack there of) is a horrid concoction of ridiculousness and general crap.
I write this off as "Almost as bad as Inheritence".
heheh this comment made me laugh
I mean, i'm not the biggest fan of the book either. I guess it was interesting to read and all but I'm not obsessed like a lot of people I know. But the way you said this was like you're trying to make it sound like a more intelligent insult... seriously... "rediculousness and general crap"? lol sorry
Anyway, I think a lot of the way people look at books and movies are blown way out of proportion. If you enjoyed reading it despite little annoying things such as prehaps edward being perfect, why can't you just accept the fact that it was an interesting read and be done with it? There's no need to overanalyze and ruin what could be a perfectly good book for you. If there are little things in there that make you like it even more, then go ahead and point it out, but no point in being pesimistic and saying "i didn't like the book because they sparkle in the sun" or "the only reason edward liked bella was because of this or that" The point of the book is to entertain you, not be perfect in every way.
Spoiler for Careful, if you want to actually read Breaking Dawn, or the series ever, this will ruin everything:
Well, I read it a few days ago. I thought it was pretty much perfect after reading. I actually somehow saw the pregnancy coming. It was probably because of the dreams, I just had a feeling. But I told myself there was no way she could get pregnant from Edward. So it was still just the slightest bit shocking.
The biggest shock for me was Jacob's imprint though. I didn't see that one coming. Also, I like Jacob a lot better now. I think "Book 2" was a great idea. It really got into Jacobs head and I could see everything from his perspective.
Okay, now that BD craze has settles down I find there area few things I didn't like about it. I felt that the characters, mainly Bella, changed. Maybe it had to do with the fact she has a child now, or maybe that she was a vampire, I don't know. There was a change for me though. I also think the book would've been better if there had been more of a conflict. After the Volturi have left, Edward states they will come back one day. Well, I want to see what happens. The whole Volturi deal should have been done with in this book, or at least in some book. I wonder if she'll write again.

You have no appreciation for good books.
Piss-poor books that are made out to be "amazing" annoy me. Overanalyzing?
It was a bad series, so I said, it is a bad series.
If a television show sucks can I not say it sucks because "it's just entertainment"? Or if an actor did a hideous job in a movie am I not allowed to point that out?

After reading half of your spoiler now I want to read the books. /Sigh.
It may be just me, but a series about a Vampire Love story really grinds my beans... From the description my friend gave me (she loves the books), It's just Big Brother for Vampires.
It is basically a story where for some uknown inexplicable reason the main characters "Bella" and "Edward" hook up and then they have to overcome the supernatural and natural problems of love including
other vampires
Were-wolves
Bellas desire to be with Edward for eternity
The super powers that are special to specific vampires meanwhile powers are rare and for some reason the Cullen family is full of um
and of course the fact that Edward has out there theories about souls and feels sorry for himself.
It really is in retrospect a crappy story. I liked portions of it while reading...like the example of the vampires in...where was it Prague?...that eat a massive group of tourists...that was cool. But it really didn't have any umph to it. Pretty much a cliche' where everything Bella wants is inevitable going to happen regardless of whether it would logically be possible. But hey who cares about logic...I mean we are talking about vampires, werewolves, I think witches too. For crying out loud...the sun doesn't even kill vampires X.X. Apparently the only thing you could do to kill a vampire is to rip them to shreds literally.
It's weird how people's opinions are always on one end of the extreme. Either you love it, or you hate it. And the people who hate it really can't seem to leave the others alone, for some odd reason.
That is usually because the reason you like or dislike it is based on your core values and experiences with love.
If you happen to not buy into the BS that this series of books gives out you probably will not enjoy it.
If you have been burned by love you probably really really hate it...
Also because the story doesn't seem like it is happening based on what "would" happen but rather what the write thinks "should" happen which is the first way for a poor writer to create a crappy story.
Example: Shooting scene in a regular novel with the main characters being inexperienced and the villains being extremely experienced...in reality if one of the characters on the inexperienced side was fighting they would get shot and die. Thus putting a shooting scene in it would be a bad idea and you try to get around it by letting things that logically would happen occur.
Unfortunately this twilight series seems to include just any and all stuff that she thinks is fun...
If you're going to enjoy it you're going to have to throw out desire for a logically progressive story line (This doesn't mean I'm saying it has no plot) and just enjoy the story.
Yeah exactly, I really think there's no harm in just enjoying a story for the sake of the story. I don't think this series deserves the level of criticism it's getting. I mean, it was written by a stay-at-home mom. Just take it lightly.
I think the reason I criticize it as much as I do is because I enjoyed it but when thinking of it I get this horrible nagging feeling that I shouldn't be enjoying it becuase of its flaws that are obvious and I denied that they existed while I was reading hehe.
But it isn't that bad of a story if you don't over analyze.
Yep, I agree. And anyway there are lots of elements to the story that I think are really nice. Like, for instance, the vampires who can go out in the sun and who don't have pointy teeth! Finally, something removed from the whole goth thing.
All I'm saying is that I don't like the idea of a Vampire Love story. To me, the words "Vampire" and "Love" don't go together. Period. I'm not trying to be rude, but I'm treating this like any other book thread I've come across. If I feel a strong like or dislike for the book, and I feel like posting, then I will post. I'm not trying to bash the book; I'm just saying what I feel about it.
Now her new book, "The Host" or something, THAT I'm going to read.
Ahh, well, I've never been into the whole vampire thing, so I didn't know that vampire + love don't usually go together. But now that I do know that.. I don't think I'll ever read a vampire story by a diff author.. .. I like love!
these novels have put vampires everywhere to shame. they can walk in sunlight and dont drink blood? Give me a break. id rather cut my toenails than read this garbage. pure garbage. These books are the most influential novels since the Catcher in the Rye, truly a classic in the making.
