Seems kinda like a waste of money to me. You really don't need a video game to teach you how to play guitar. You'll get a lot more value out of a good teacher, and there are no techniques a video game can teach you that you can't find on the net or a guitar book. The rest is simply practise that you can and should do whether you have the game or not. Though i guess the game will motivate people to practise or something?

      Well, it's not for me.

But then why not just stick with guitar hero as it is? Seems to me that introducing a real guitar is aiming at a more skill-based experience. And we all know the world needs more guitarists

But, like i said, if it allows people to enjoy practise and to get into something they enjoy doing, it's fine by me. Just not something that i think i would enjoy.

This is my main reason for wanting it, I can play just fine straight form tabs, however, this would really get me off looking at my fingers so much and also get me to play up to speed faster, imo. Plus, flashing colors make everything better

Exactly. And it could help make practice more entertaining, and increase your reaction skills, because you're not looking down every couple of seconds to check out what the next chord or next note is that you're going to play, they're coming straight at you on your TV screen. I'm thinking something like this would really help to accelerate the learning process, and make practicing more entertaining, and help new players who can't afford teachers get the hang of things faster.

Useless to me unless there's a mode for bass.

Plug in guitar to system and go, I assume? All electric guitars have plugs so reading that output shouldn't be too difficult.
