Thank you, that's much better, the link i was going to kept telling me to enter payment info then it would send me free trial.

Tell us how it's going And take things one step at a time. The learning curve is a little sharp... and did you download Classic or Premium?

I got classic at first, then i downloaded the premium graphics since i have a nice graphics card. The game is odd, the movement and looking around is kinda... annoying. It can be annoying to click on things when the pirates are flying around and such.

Try bringing down the cache size. Mine is set to none and it runs perfectly. Full sliders, all systems full, just no cache.

Yep, Premium graphics. I guess I'm just comparing everything to Crysis ever since I played it hehe. I just got Gears of War on 360 today and I'm like fuck that's awesome graphics.... still got nothing on Crysis though....
I gotta erase that game from my memory lol

I put in a couple months back in Dec/Jan (in fact my account won't lapse until next month). I might be back in the Fall; I just lose the MMO itch as Springtime rolls around.

I just got the 14 day trial a couple days ago- really enjoying it. I tried it a year or so ago and I thought it was kinda boring, but I was definitely wrong. Right now I'm saving up for my cruiser- I'm Gallente, although I have Caldari frigate skills as well. I'm looking at a Vexor, as it can mine and be functional in combat. And it looks way better than the Thorax or the Exqueror.

I'm kinda annoyed at how I made my character though, he's Gallente and very ugly. I think I might re-roll as a Caldari that actually looks good before I get too sucked in- but I gotta see if I'm buying the game first.

Caldari are good for mission running. If you ever look into PVP, you'll want to fly Gallente or Amarr.

I fly Amarr, so I don't know too much about Gallente ships, so I can't give you much advice there.

Well, I got my Vexor, and it's pretty amazing.

Honestly though, now that I have it, I'm kinda bored. I can't get a better ship, and don't really have anything to spend my money on. Now that I have salvaging I have tons of money left over. I might just buy a bunch of expensive things for the Vexor and have some fun in PVP before my trial runs out.

You won't get much PvP out of a trial account. If you're going into PvP, you need certain fittings in order to succeed. A PvP fitted ship is much different than a Missioning Fitted ship. For PvP electronic warfare is a must, for things like Warp Scramblers, Statis Webifiers, Energy Vampires and Neutralizers, and more.

Not to mention skills for tanking damage.

I always loved Eve since I used trial accounts, but theres so much you can't do with a trial account and the best parts, and the heart of the game, lies outside the trial accounts. They therefore paint a nice picture of Eve, but not good enough to lure many people in unfortunately as the actual game goes far beyond the trial.

I definitely recommend paying for at least a month or so to get more into the game. And I'd be happy to help you out if you do.

Wow, this thread. Anyway, I tried to get back into it, but the game as a whole feels so inaccessible. I don't know, it's hard to explain, but in WoW you can just play, but with EVE you have to carefully stack your house of cards just right so you enjoy your corp, your role in it and the game as a whole. Assuming you find the corp for you, and that corp will hire you, and you get the role you want, that turns out it is what you wanted it to be, etc.
