You say that like it's not what would really happen, if this kind of thing actually went down.

I think it has less to do with "trying to be like X-Men" than it does with the governmental paradigm of National Security.

Wow, this episode was just utterly fulfilling after the somewhat aimless direction it's been going in the past few weeks. I especially love how Heroes ends each season with a pre-cap of the next volume.

The black president was a nice touch to our current reality

and YES, it's for sure, in iron-clad, that Sylar is back to his normal, "evil" self. I really couldn't stand the thought of him ending up as a good guy. He's just so frickin cool as the bad guy. (don't get me wrong, I still want the good guys to win....but even the terms of good and bad are arbitrary in this show, lol.)

Well, looks like the Season 3 thread is pretty much wrapped up....should we lock it?....actually, naw, I'm sure people are still catching up with the show

Understatement: I can't wait for Season 4.

It looks like they're probably going to bring Micah back. I hope that Monica (?... the muscle mimic) comes back as well. I need to go back and watch that episode again to catch more of what was in the files that the President had.

I heard the actress that played Monica had some problems with the producers of the show, and thus they cut her off. But it would be nice to have her come back and do something, cuz otherwise her character would have been for nothing (all she's accomplished so far is failing to get Micah's dad's medal back and getting Niki killed....yeah, I think she needs to redeem herself, lol)

agreed, there's nothing to live for until Heroes: Volume 4 begins....(steps into cryo-chamber)

I've already read about some of season 4, sounds good to me. I wonder if Sylar is gone for good? You know even if he isn't they'll have to have some new badass step up to the plate. I can't wait for the season to start, I hope Peter kicks some ass.

Why would he not be back? He has Claire's healing ability. A shard in the back of his head only means he's immobilized. But there is the fire and the explosion to consider (since a shard in the head assumes all his abilities are temporarily disabled as well)....so, yeah, maybe he's dead.

The only thing that would make sense in his coming back is Peter returning the favor and saving Sylar's life. (they may very well end up on the same side, with the whole killing Arthur Petrelli scene)

Consider the flow of the story as well, and put yourself in the writers' shoes. Would it seem right to get rid of Sylar just yet?

It wouldn't to me, but the writers don't make much sense. Quinto could have other things he wants to move on to do, but I hope not. Sylar is too awesome!

Cmon, this show went downhill. I remember when it was in its prime in the first season, it was kinda cool but seaon 2 and on till now, its goin down hard like that plane crash. and talk about rippin off Lost like cmon,

-opens with a digital clock at 7:15am (Lost 5.01, opens at 8:15am with an old analog clock)
-Nikki watching the TV at the start (Lost 4.01, jack watches TV in the morning, some camera work is the same)
-Peter trying to save a guy with the other guy while being a paramedic, and rippin off the lines (any Jack centric, mostly 1.11, the confrontations between Christian and Jack)
-they try to live a normal life and keep themselves a secret (Lost season 4+5)
-uh, the plane crash at the end and the faded music into silence (Lost in general)
-next week's headline "It started with a plane crash... that will change their lives forever" (CMON!)
-next weeks preview, people running thru the forest, plus surrounded by plane wreckage and bad guys hunting them down, please...

If i recall the writers of lost and heroes are good friends, so there are some nods to each other in the respective shows. I thought this episode was bad ass, i was getting bad ass bumps when they shot like 3 tasers into sylars back and he just turned around and looked pissed, sylar is one super powered person you don't want to get pissed. Is anyone else kinda angry that Hiro has no powers, but ando does? I think ando is cool and all, but i would prefer hiro to have powers too again.

Your forgetting one thing, that Lost is crap and no one gives a shit.

I would like to see Hiro have his powers back, I would also like to see him become like the Hiro from the future in the first season where he looks like a ninja.

I'm curious as to whether Peter has regained all his powers or if he has to regain them all again. I thought it was silly with him hanging on for dear life in the plane when he can fly.

The show is much better when they just follow one plot line and not change scenes constantly.

Pretty bad-ass how Sylar is the only one they can't contain so far. I can imagine him being the anti-hero of this season.

I haven't seen season four yet... I'll get around to it eventually. I don't know. There were isolated episodes or storylines that were cool in season three but mostly it was a train wreck. Personally, tons of actions were way out of character. I'm not a fan of Tracy/Speedgirl. Matt's character development halted and he turned into an angel. Mr. Petrelli was lame. All of the death scenes were void of any emotion or development. Claire had an emotional breakdown every episode. I don't care about Mohinder at all anymore. And what the crap was up with the eclipse episodes?

I don't know. I sincerly don't mean to bash anyone who liked season three, and I understand what you liked about it if you did. More power to yu if you enjoy season four. I'm just not too hyped about it. (I've been rewatching season one and will probably watch season two again right now.)

Mohinder: They butchered his character...he's a pointless character, a blithering idiot.

Nikki (Or whatever she calls herself now): I felt keeping her on the show was stretching the "let's keep her and re-write her into it somehow" too much and really don't like her anymore.

Nathan: Still up in the air about the direction of his character

Claire: I find it hard to believe she's been out of school all this time without explanation (another character I see them trying to build up into something spectacular but she's just another pissy "want it my way" teenage girl.

Matt: I dislike the "let's just all be normal and not use our powers" guy he's turned into

Overall, I was disappointed by the first episode. I say this because I DID get the feeling it was going over into X-men territory. Majorly.

I'd like to see how well YOU could write a season after snorting crack for 1 year straight.

Granted. But I also don't make a six figure salary.

Nikki (Or whatever she calls herself now): I felt keeping her on the show was stretching the "let's keep her and re-write her into it somehow" too much and really don't like her anymore.

Understandable. But if that's the case, give her a dignified death scene! That scene could have made more people cry then Titanic. Instead, everyone I talked to after season 2 didn't think she had bitten it. We were all like 'Pshaw.'

I dunno, I think I like what they did with this first episode. Mohinder might actually start to be more cool, it looks like, though Peter is still pretty much an idiot (really reminds me of Clark on Smallville, how he has so much potential, but is a naive fool, though I still love both of them). Sylar is even more badass, which I love; he is by far my favorite character. Nathan is still a manipulative ass, and Noah is with him now?

Claire seems even more angsty and foolhardy, which I wasn't sure was possible, and frankly she just gets on my nerves now (again to draw a comparison to Smallville, Lana Lang, not in character but in how sick I'm getting of her). It looks like there might have been a couple of new characters on that plane, though, which could be cool.

I also have a theory on how Hiro will get his powers back, but it seems a bit too obvious, so I don't want to say anything yet.

Whatever happened to the german? I looked for spoilers for the future episodes...lets just say, based on the show you referenced, I don't think you are going to like the casting for a specific new member of the show MoS.

Sylar is electrokinetic. Electricity doesn't phase him.

And I actually like Claire's whole arc. She's a girl who spent the first few seasons trying to find meaning, and find a purpose. She's been trying to turn her ability into something that makes her feel alive. She's finally done that. She feels that she can help battle the evil with the "gift" she's been given, and that's her one main goal in life. We've watched everything else she's ever had in her life fail, and this is something that she's latching onto.

Angsty? Yes. But understandably so.

If you're talking about the power he got from Elle...

Even her own power hurt her. They don't really make people's powers all that clear, but in the episode where her power "increased" it hurt her to have the power. Though that could have been because her powers were screwed up.
