Edward Scissorhands is a creepy man. This seems fairly obvious.

However, they show the film on TV often enough. Don't be so elitist.

Though it may just be the time and technology difference, I much preferred Alice in Wonderland over Scissorhands. Either way both of these movies should be watched.

I saw Alice in 3D imax on opening night, and I though it was a damn good movie. It was very poetic and metaphorical in my opinion, and I value those sorts of things in movies. That was my first time seeing a movie in 3D as well. Heheh. That was cool.

I love Burton's movies, and I love the book, so this was just wonderful! I agree with Rainman, the movie is very poetic and metaphorical, just like the book is.

GOOD!! I'm glad Real-D 3D was your first experience. If you're first time seeing 3D had been with red and blue lenses, you would've been turned off.

I thought it was a good movie.

However, I believe it could have been much better.

Okay, I saw it last night and it was better than I thought it would be.

I loved the Cheshire cat too. He was one of my favorite characters. I also liked the fat boys.

The end was a bit confusing. So I agree, it could have been better in some areas. Other than that, it was great.

See, I started off thinking I wouldn't like it but after I saw it, I loved it! My friend who dragged me into seeing it feels the same way as you.

Got blazed with a few friends and then saw it last night. Thought the whole 3D aspect was quite a rip off. I don't think they really took much advantage of it. The Mad Hater was a head trip though and the visuals were quite fun.

I did think it was a bit too holywoodish - which didn't really suit this movie too well - but other than that it was great. I also saw it in 3D, but I didn't think there was any advantage to it.

I just saw the movie and it was AWESOME!! They used quite a few lines from the book, which I liked, and the Cheshire Cat was perfect. I loved the weird landscapes and the music and everything. I think it was actually good that the Mad Hatter wasn't just a completely bonkers character who spewed nonsense, because it gave him more of a personality. And did anyone notice that the first time the Knave of Hearts appears, his eyepatch is black, and then for the rest of the movie it's red? Or maybe I just saw that wrong.

Also-- "Why is a raven like a writing desk?" Because they both make a few notes, although they're very flat, and you nevar put them with the wrong end forward. -Or- Because Poe wrote on both.

I was thinking the forums would be raving about it.

I mean, it is SO surreal after all. What, with all the Avatar hype?

Sometimes it's fun to go to a movie even though you know you're going to hate it. You can criticize it and what not.

I watched it, didn't think it was that great. The graphics, props and costumes are awesome. But the whole story line and Alice's acting didn't cut it for me.

I haven't actually read Dahl's book but I believe Burton's movie stuck closer to the original story. but I completely agree, the Gene Wilder movie was infinitely better.

I really don't like Tim Burton in general, though. I hate his pseudo-goth style, the only movie of his that I like at all is Beetlejuice, and that was made in the 80s.

I'm so tired of the Burton-Depp team, too. Burton can put out any heap of shit, and people will lap it up. and if it stars Johnny Depp, all the more.

I think Burton is extremely overrated, but people love his shit because it's pretty much the only dark fantasy (and still family friendly) stuff that makes it to the mainstream theatres. I don't care what anyone says, his style is lame. it's a lousy, diluted, PG kind of wannabe dark.
Hey! Another kindred soul here! I totally concur! ANd also Helena Bonham Carter! Her and Johnny Depp and Tim Burton. And please spare me the soundtrack by Danny Elfman! Does Alice in Wonderland have Soundtrack by Danny Elfman! I hope not! As a musician myself, Danny Elfman's music drives me crazy! It is OK for the Simpsons theme song, but after you hear it over and over again and in every Tim Burton movie it begins to drive you Mad!!! Did anyone see the Family Guy episode where Danny Elfman did the soundtrack for Star Wars and they had a bunch of clowns playing accordians and slide whistles?

The only movies I liked by Time Burton were Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands. That blue/black color theme of his gets to me. The pale faces also. He has only one style. But I will go see it anyway... Just because it is better to regret something you have done than something you haven't done. And I am a Johhny Depp fan. He reminds me of my late brother, God rest his soul. His name was Johnny also.

      Man people. So harsh.

It was weird, huge, strange, funny, and cool.

Story wasn't terrific, but so what?

You don't see Alice in Wonderland to see a great story, you go to weird stuff.

      Off with their heads!

I watched the movie today and really enjoyed it. I've never actually seen or heard the actual Alice in Wonderland, so I was not quite sure what I was going into. Then again, this is more of a sequel. I certainly recommend it.

Saw it in 3D by the way. Didn't think much of it. It was not annoying, though it didn't really change the film either.
