I have a very very wide range of interests, from serial killers to see n' says, and I can appreciate so many things. I think you just don't understand what I'm saying. I'm not saying that everyone who likes this movie is a moron/has no taste whatsoever. rather, I am saying that if one really likes this movie, odds are they lack an imagination or it is significantly impaired.

actually, everyone should give up their own 'individual artistic view's and accept mine as a 'formal definition of a good piece of art.' because my views are open to beauty and closed to silly 'one size fits all' $$$ movies/media.

let me try to put this in words where you can understand - and I don't mean to condescend, it's just that every time I really try to talk about myself I come off haughty and self-centered...but I think that's because I fail to express myself adequately.

"Ignorant" works, just as well.

And I say this, while only having seen half of the movie. Why? Because no one can presume to know any other person's motivations for liking any form of entertainment. It's a pretty simple concept, but many people tend to overlook it, because they figure their own perspective to be the most worthy of merit, for any number of excuses reasons.

I have to admit, it surprised me a little when it first popped up...

I did, actually (overlook it), but it doesn't change much - being that those "odds" you mentioned are fabricated, and based upon your own bias.

Most are, sure (in our opinions), but now you're back-pedaling. What you're saying now has less to do with the movie than it does people, in general.

You could have avoided a lot of conflict (and a bit of degradation of your own character), if you would have just said:

"Most people lack imagination." and then left the thread.

But when you say stuff like:

"ok truth be told, this movie is good to those who lack imagination"

"if you have a brilliant imagination, this kind of movie would bore you"

...you're basically just spitting out tired old rhetoric that has been the linchpin of armchair "critics" since, well...ever.

While understand your feelings toward this movie (which seem slightly more idealistic than substantial), I think you should be careful about insulting people for their feelings on any one piece of art/entertainment. And even though you say "there are exceptions", you are inadvertently insulting those 'exceptions', by association.

I've got a bit of an anti-commercial, 'rage against the machine' sentiment, too, but I think you should tread lightly, when it comes to insulting people for their choices in entertainment, because, like I said, people that "really like this movie" often have vested interests in certain aspects of it (the art, the atmosphere, the concepts), and aren't liking it because they've picked apart every single, tiny aspect of the film.

Personally, I think people who do the latter cheapen the entire concept of "art." But that's just me. Anyway, I'm rambling. What were we talking about, again?

I just found out that Lewis Carroll wrote Alice in Wonderland after having a lucid dream.

probably speculation. where'd you hear it, anyway?

he told the Liddell sisters stories all the time, and Alice begged him to write it down. he made them up spontaneously, from what I remember. I never read anything about a lucid dream.

I was looking trough 'How to Lucid Dream' videos on youtube yesterday just for the fun of it and I came across this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llw717IARpQ

At the end they say "Did you know Lewis Carroll was inspired to write Alice in Wonderland after having a lucid dream"

It's just simply in a video on youtube so I suppose they could be wrong. I googled it and couldn't find anything that proved that theory.
