IE in before I get a chance to reply. I didn't get to see the video because of my epically horrible connection, but I hope at the least it's better than the one with all those silly familiars....and the other 3D one .

I know it's just a matter of personal taste, but to me, the whole side-scroller/3D argument is kind of like people saying the new Grand Theft Auto sucks because it's not a top-down scroller, like the original.

I think this one looks waaaay better than the earlier attempt at a 3D Castlevania. And with the voice talent, and Hideo Kojima's team behind it, I have some pretty high hopes.

Now I'm even more interested...what does the game play look like? Devil May Cryish? God of Warish? If they do something like that with it, I would be happy.

A lil bit of both, actually.

I don't like the way Castlevania's been heading as a franchise. Playing devil's advocate for a second, it really does seem like Castlevania was simply made to be in 2D...depressingly, though, every single 2D game they've made since has closely followed the format of Symphony of the Night, for some damn reason. It was a great game, sure, but does that really have to define how the rest of the games go? Since when did the entirety of a CV game have to take place inside Dracula's castle? I miss the haunting scenery of cemetaries, caves, mansions, etc. that all defined the feel of the orignal NES trilogy. All of that, gone since SotN. Frackers.

At least this game looks good. None of the prissy-ass, androgynous, anime-style protagonists that plague the hand-held versions. It seems everyone says that the first few 3D platforming CV games are nothing more than half-rate clones of the Devil May Cry games. Let's all hope that's not the case here...

I completely agree with this. It's actually one thing I'm looking forward to, when it comes to this game. It seems that most of this game (that I've seen so far) takes place outside of the castle, and on an epic scale. I hope it's all as immersive and surreal as I have a feeling they are going for.
