So although a DC may be less than the actual person they are in real life, our dream selves shouldn't be less than who we are in reality. So I can't say I don't have control over my actions in a non-lucid, I just don't realise it's a dream.
I know what you mean and i fully agree with that, but that's not what i meant. Control is when at that exact moment, you can decide what to do, even things that are not even relevant to the dream's story... and that's only possible in lucids, since you need to be aware of where you are, what you are doing, ect.... In non-lucids it might feel like you made a choice, but you really didn't...
Being who you are and what your personality is like will change how you react towards things in regular dreams, but that doesn't grant you the ability to consciously change things and decide, you need to be lucid to do that.
I meant conscious control, by 'control', not your actions that are projected by your personality.
